Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | for the time being, that pup needs not to be fed again for 24 hours and only be given small amounts of water so as not to become dehydrated. Food and large amounts of water will probably just make him throw up again. the eyes can be wiped with warm water on a cotton ball. That pup should be seen by a vet when they open. if he has to wait till monday for the vet then here is what i suggest as far as feeding and water. No food for 24 hours, this will give his digestive tract a break and get the last bits of diarrhea out. Small amounts of water are ok every couple hours. If during that 24 hours there is no more vomit then tomorrow night for dinner he can try giving the pup a small amount of boiled chicken and rice. maybe about a tablespoon amount. If this is kept down he can have another tablespoon two hours later. and so on. the pup probably has an upper respiratory infection which would explain the gooey eyes. How long has he had the pup? is it sneezing as well? or coughing?

| This is the number of a 24 hour pet clinic in WI: (414) 540-6710 There might be one in your state as well but if not you can call them , it will just be long distance for you. They should be able to advise you what is best to do until you can get him to a vet. Poor little guy! I hope he feels better soon! |

| This is the story... I was passing by our local mall and a women had a sign that said "free puppies" being a curious person I stopped and I overheard her saying,"well we have to go... guess we will just drop this one off at the humane society on the way home"... I spoke up and said.. "WAIT... I'll take her.... " I knew I would have a better chance of finding it a home ... so I took her and brought her home , gave her a bath and cleaned her up.. called my older sister and asked if maybe they would like a lab pup for my godson/nephew.... she said sure... so I took her over... later that night she started to through up and get diarhea..... I panicked and came here.,. I knew someone here might have had a similar exp and could help.... so tomorrow morning she will be going to the vet to get a check up and hopefully everything will be ok.... she sure is cute and a good pup... I just couldn't bare the fact of her going to the humane society and possibly euthanized... today she is eating a bit and pooping solid... will let you guys know what the vet tells my sister tomorrow... thanks ! |
