| Newman has a mass. Hi guys. Newman my ten year old Yorkie has had trouble with his paw pad. He was licking his foot a couple of weeks ago but I didn't see anything. I cleaned his foot and put some antibiotic cream on it and bandaged it for a day and it seemed fine. The other night he started licking the same spot again and I looked and the black on the pad was now white and it was very swollen. Once again, I cleaned it and put antibiotic on it and bandaged it with the intention on calling the vet the next day. He seemed fine this morning and so I did some errands, came home and he couldn't walk. Took him this afternoon (the earliest i could get an appointment) and his middle paw pad is about four times the size that it should be and the doctor has told us there is a mass. He's on antibiotics and is scheduled for surgery Friday. Because of his age and the fact he has a collapsed trachea, they wanted him on antibiotics for a week first. The doctor won't know for sure if it's cancer till he goes in and we are just a wreck. We've had Newman since a pup and although we have known his health has not bee great due to his poor breeding it's still hard. Please, keep him in your prayers. He's our little man. Thanks Elaine |

| I am so sorry to hear about Newman, hopefully it will turn out benign. It is so hard not to stress about surgery for them. They do tend to bounce back pretty quickly. My Angel had surgery yesterday and is feeling pretty good today! We will keep you in our prayers.

| I hope Newman is okay. I'm so sorry about the lump. I have a toy poodle, Dugan, who is 13 and has had some health problems. He has quite a few lumps on his body, but the vet said they are just fatty deposits, not cancer. I hope that's the case with Newman. Older dogs are so sweet and have a strong will to live!!!! We wish you guys the best.
