| Update! Bella is home from surgery!! Hi all, first I want to thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers....You are truely a great group of people! Bella had her hernia surgery at about 8:30 this morning and was back home with me by 12 noon..... The vet said NO jumping, running, playing rough for 7 days!!!! Well, this is going to be soooooooooooooooooooooooo difficult but I am doing all that I can to see that it gets done....Louie and Bella both sleep with me at night and have NEVER liked sleeping in the crate, so I am going to start by bringing the crate in my bedroom and if they cry I will put it on the bed and see how that goes. The vet told me that I could give her "benedryl" to keep her a little more calm. Almost a half a teaspoon. Have any of you given yours benedryl and if so how did they react?????? Need answers quick as I am considering giving it to her soon. Thanks Again All!

| I have given my dogs benadryl, although I gave them a half of a tablet. It just makes them very sleepy....as it does for me! |

| So glad to hear Bella is home safe and sound A little Benadryl will help keep her mellow and the more she rests the faster she'll heal.

| Glad to hear that she's home and doing well I never had to sedate my dogs after a procedure, I just kept the injured one in an xpen so they couldn't run or jump. It was hard with Izzy's spay cuz Luna wanted to play, but I kept them seperated for the first few days and then started letting them play for short periods until it was back to the routine

| I'm so happy that little Bella is home now and everything went fine. I know you were frantic with worry. If she won't stay quiet I think I would put her in a comfortable little carrier and carry her around with me all day. Just want to make sure those stitches don't pop open. Will keep little Bella in my prayers for a very quick recovery. ...Ok little Bella, mommy is going to spoil you BIG TIME for awhile!!! LOL
