| Ralfie is in the hospital :( For the first time since I brought Ralfie home, I'm spending the night without him I feel like the worst Mommy in the world. I'm prescribed adderall for my ADD. When we brought Ralfie home, we were VERY careful to vaccuum the whole house and puppy-proof his area. I ALWAYS keep my medication in a room he isn't allowed in, in the medicine cabinet. WELL... I threw on a sweatshirt tonight that had been laying around for god knows how long in my closet. One of my adderall pills was in the pocket, and it must have fallen out when I was putting it on. I didn't even notice it My boyfriend came into the room a few minutes later and noticed it laying on the floor, and it was wet and smaller than it should have been. Didn't take a genius to figure out Ralfie had found it and licked it. Soon after, we noticed Ralfie was shaking and running around, acting WAY more hyper than normal. He didn't know what to do with himself. He was scared and couldn't settle down. We called the animal poison control #, and they told us to rush him to the animal hospital (after they got our credit card number of course, that was first priority ) The animal hospital was really nice, they took all his vitals and gave him Cipro, and wanted him to stay overnight to be monitored. They said he didn't get very much of it, but wanted to make absolutely sure. I'm glad he's there and that hes in the best possible place, but I feel so much guilt. I should have paid better attention to him. He's my baby and I feel so irresponsible. So please please pray for my little man. He's still only 4 1/2 months old and even though I think he will pull through this, he's all by himself and I'm sure he doesn't understand whats going on. I miss him so much, I see his toys and he sleeps with me every night, I feel so empty without him here. Thanks so much for letting me vent, I know you guys can relate to how hard it is to be without our babies. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It is so hard to think of them in the hosptial. Cali has her share of overnight stays at the er hospital. One day I mentioned I was so worried she would be so scared and stressed. The vet assurred me that all of the staff take turns holding and carrying around the little scared ones. She said Cali was getting so much attention and not to worry. So hopefully Ralfie will be home feeling better today, Good Luck

Donating YT 500 Club Member | OH -- I'm sure sorry to hear it. We will send happy thoughts your way. And I do know how awful it feels. Ozzie has spent a total of 3 nights at the hospital since November. You never know how empty a house can be 'til they aren't there. The happy part is that very soon he will be back at home, into absolutely everything and driving you totally crazy -- and you won't care. |

| Sending prayers for little Ralphie. He's where he needs to be right now and NOT because of anything you did or didn't do. It's because he's a normal little inquisitive puppy that will investigate and taste everything, I don't think there is such a thing a 100% puppy-proof. You got him to the vet immediately and that's 100% Mommy-love. You are doing a great job. Hugs to you both.

| You poor thing! It sounds like Raffie's going to be fine and you did exactly the right thing. He got a good prognosis already. Please let us know when he gets home. I know how guilty you must feel though. I dropped one of my hormone pills (for symptoms of menopause) and Max swallowd the whole thing. I did the same thing you did - amazing how they want your money first. He didn't have to go to the ER, but I felt so guilty. He's fine, and time helps you get over it. Judy |

| Accidents happen - it's not your fault!! One day I dropped a baby aspirin on the floor and Sadie scarfed it right up. Fortunately she ALWAYS gets car sick - so I grabbed her, got in the car, and drove like a maniac around the neighborhood. Sure enuf, she threw it up inside of 5 minutes!!!
