Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I just dropped Miko off for surgery. They will be removing a stone about the size of a marble...Also, they will be microchipping him and doing a teeth cleaning. I was hesitant about doing the teeth cleaning b/c I didn't want him being under anesthesia for longer than necessary, but they said it won't add time and he needs it.
Unfortunately his body produces bladder stones due to his liver shunt, and his shunt is intrahepatic so it can't be repaired. Only managed through diet and medication and a surgery that they did previously that allows the stones to pass more freely. Even though he had that surgery, sometimes stones get caught in his bladder and they accumulate causing a larger stone like the one he has currently. I know I'm rambling, but I'm just praying that everything turns out okay.

Please pray for our baby, Miko!!

Thanks everyone! The vet is supposed to call me as soon as Miko gets out of surgery, so I'm waiting for that call...I'll let you all know how everything goes. The vet does want Miko to stay the night though, so I won't be able to pick him up until tomorrow.

Aww. poor little Miko. I just saw this and am glad everything went well. Roxy sends puppy kisses to Miko and some extra to you to keep you warm and wet until Miko comes back home

Glad to hear Miko is doing good. I know it can be nerve racking so I hope everyone there continues with a speedy and easy recovery.
