Oh Connie, I'm so sorry to hear about Maddie. I know its hard when the Vet you trust isn't around. Just hang in there. Maybe you might find someone else that will "suffice" if he isn't around. Any else here from your area? Maybe they can recommend someone. Winnipeg is a long way away. Thats the closest I could! Anyways, prayers are floating down from up north for little Maddie and that you find some one you feel comfortable with!

OMG I'm just now seeing this !! POOR BABY and poor you !! Is there any news ? Did you get her in yet ? Connie - all I can say is I'll be praying for her - you've been thru so much this last month and nothing can be wrong with that baby ....She just can't be sick. Could she have eaten something that made her barf look red ??? My girls freaked my out once doing that with a chewie - you know her better than anyone and I tend to think you'd know blood if you saw it....

KEEPING you in my thoughts and prayers ....call me if you need to talk ok ???

Connie, you and Maddie are in my prayers! Oscar was sick once throwing up a lot of blood and it was some boiled chicken I had fed him. My vet said that some Yorkies just can't eat any people food! He gave him a shot and some meds and he has been fine ever since. I know it is scary to see that much blood for such a tiny one but I am sure she will be o.k.! She just has to be!!! Let us know when you get back from the vet!!!

I am so sorry about Maddie. Pixie had s very similar thing 2 weeks ago. She threw up massive amounts of brown poopy looking vomit many times. I ran her in to my vet who took an Xray and thought maybe a possible blockage, but them they kept her and did a barium xray and the barium was going thru normally so they gave her a shot to settle her stomach and had me feed her hamburger and rice and she was fine the next day. But my other 2 then had bouts of diahrrea and vomiting. I think it was the hard food was bad from the breeder as it was out of date and I didn't know it even had a date, but it's a natural blend. Hopefully Maddie just ate something that didn't agree with her.

I just got back home with my precious Maddie. She doesn't feel good at all. It was vomit and not diarrhea...I had scraped some out of the carpet to take there and there was actually little blood clots in with it. I knew it was vomit because her butt was clean, but her mouth and nose were all wet. I feel so bad thinking of how sick she was while I was taking my shower. There were six places where she threw up with blood and little blood drops all around the house. The first thing he asked me is if she'd gotten into any rat or mouse poison. I said no, but on the way home I got to wondering if there could be some in my Mom's basement. I need to go over there and check to see if there's anything there, as Maddie came down with me the other night. He then asked about table scraps and Maddie doesn't get table scraps unless someone gave some to her without my knowledge. He said that stress can also bring this on and asked if anything was different in Maddie's life. I told him my Mom had died. He asked if Maddie was close to her and I, of course, started crying and told him yes...they were very close and now we go to Mom's and she's not there. I told him how depressed she's been since Mom died. He diagnosed her with upper digestive inflammation and she will be on two different pills and pepcid a/c. The one pill she is to have a half hour before the pepcid a/c. Then the other pill and a half hour an hour after that she can eat. One pill is 3 times a day and the other is 2 times a day. He suggested canned i/d food for her for a while. She has a fever also. She isn't interested in eating, poor baby. I will just be babying her something awful. That vet seemed nice, but I'd feel so much more relieved if I could have seen my own vet. My vet always writes instructions down and this guy didn't and now I'm wondering if it was a half or a fourth of the pepcid ac. I will have to call there. Since Mom was sick and since she died, I just can't remember things. Thanks all for your prayers and I'd so appreciate if you you'd continue to pray for Maddie. I feel a little better since having her to the vet, but am still terribly concerned. Hugs to all!

Oh, Connie - I'm relieved to hear that Maddie is going to be ok. That must have been so scary for you!

I will say a prayer for you and your little girl that you both find peace and comfort.

Connie - that's just what the vet said Chanel had and it went thru her system in about 4 days so this really could be stress related with little Maddie. I sure hope it is. I don't like to say that - but the alternative isn't something I want to think about and I know you don't !! Sending get well wishes for your baby and I really hope she feels better soon.....She has such a good mommy and you've been thru so much that this just may be her body reacting to so many changes.

So glad she is gonna be o.k. I am sure it was 1/4 a Pepcid...I think that was the dose that Oscar was on.
