oH no, I'm so sorry. Hopefully the breeder will help on the bill at least. I would tell the vet you would like a check on the lot of vaccinations he was given. In rare cases the vaccination can kill. Poor little guy.

Default Monty 11/22/06 - 2/7/07

Thank you all for your prayers and your kind words. Yorkie Talk has been a great find and a great support system for us.

My heart is breaking.

I am angry that the breeder insisted that I bring Monty back to them so that they could take him to their "family vet"!!!

Had I known their famly vet was going to send him home, I would have bit the expense bullit and paid for whatever care he needed, but I was under the impression that their vet is on the payroll or something and that was the best way to go financially. UGHHH! I am so angry at myself for allowing Monty to die in the arms of some passive breeder that didn't have the brains to know that he had to stay in the hospital.

This has been a hard learning experience for me and I new very little about Parvo and it's deadly ways. The breeder showed me all documentation and Monty seemed to be very healthy. This happened all within 72 hours.

I am sitting here with a broken heart and a house that smells like bleach and most of all, poor little Monty and what he must have gone through.

My prayers are with him, he touched my heart deeply.

I am so sorry for your loss of baby Monty. How heartbreaking!

Is the breeder refunding your money? Paying the vet bills?
Having a puppy die 3 days after getting him is cause for a refund.

Unlove I am so sorry for your loss of little Monty.

I know your heart must be broken. I am definitely not an expert but I believe that you are not supposed to bring another puppy into an area where there has been parvo. I hope someone else will post with what steps you need to take before you get another puppy. Like you, I don't know how you sterilize the carpet. Does steam cleaning do that?

I had a puppy pass away from Parvo years ago. We lived in Italy and the vet came to the house daily to give him his meds and IV fluids. It was a tragic death. My only consolation was that it was fast. Even after sanitizing your home, Parvo virus can live for up to 6 months or more. I recommend that you do not bring another puppy into your home until after that time. It will spare you the grief of losing another beloved pet.. My sumpathy goes out to you...

I am so sorry for your loss. Has the breeder offered to help with the vet bills or anything?
