Do you have a friend or relative close to you that could take one for several weeks and see what happens and then bring it back into the home? I think if that didn't work I would think of rehoming one, but then again how are you going to know the one kept won't do the behaviour thing with one of the others that you have? Good luck and hope your little Abby is not hurt seriously. Please keep us updated on how things work out and what you do to win over from this problem.

You have 10 dogs in your home now?

Before you rehome I would try to find a local dog trainer and see what they have to say..maybe you could figure something out besides separating them. If you can get your hands on some of Cesar Milans DVD's you might find your answer..check your local library or video rental store...he is awesome and has touched on this subject a few times. Check his website and books too...something has to work besides just rehoming...

Good Luck!! I know its hard to have to rehome...

Sorry I posted before I read that far. But.... a year of "sometimes" getting out and going at it is TOO MUCH. Sometimes we have to love them enough to do the right thing by them. You asked for opinions, don't get mad just cause you don't like them.

I guessed 10 dogs as there were 10 paw prints in your signature -- now I see one just said All my pups. Nine dogs is still a lot. Not too unusual for a couple of them to not get along.

I'm sorry you're going through this! I have a female chi that is a lot more aggressive than any of my other dogs. She thinks she is the alpha in this house, after me, and I have to put her in her place pretty often to keep her from biting at the other dogs. I've never seen the Dog Whisperer show, but my dad was watching it and said when you have dogs that are out of control like that you can use your hand in a biting motion by their face and firmly tell them no. It makes sense, because that is how alpha dogs keep the others in line - by biting their faces. Don't actually hurt them, but use your hand to grab the side of their face and say a loud 'no' or 'stop' at the same time. I'm surprised at how well it makes them stop what they're doing and listen. Maybe something like that will work for you. If not, I would definitely suggest finding a trainer who can help you. Good luck!

My two girls fight all the time, but they're just playing. It sounds like they're killing each other, they get so loud! Thankfully, they ARE just playing and not actually hurting one another. They both give as good as they get, and there's not an "aggressor" here. I'm sorry that you are going through this, and as heartbreaking as it is, you really should consider rehoming one or both of them (seperately of course). I didn't read all of the other replies first, so I'm flying by the seat of my pants here So if I'm repeating what others already said, forgive me. I like to go ahead and give my honest opinion before reading others'.

How do they get along with all of your other pups? Is there one in particular that is the main aggressor? You may have to spend some big time $$$ on a trainer to come to your home, if you want to keep them both. I'm sad for you that you have this problem, it must be so stressful on you AND the doggies

Good luck!

If you are going to keep both dogs then you will need to keep them apart so they don't hurt each other.
I had 2 females who were like this and I did end up rehomeing one of them, for safely reasons.
Sometimes as hard as it is.. you just have to go with your heart on this and do whats best for you and your dogs...Good luck to you.

Good luck on getting them to get along. I know I wouldn't want to rehome either of them!!! Don't let anyone stress you out either!! You will do what is best for your babies!
