| Yellow Mucus in Stool? Today my puppy Lula started pooping a yellow mucus along w/her poop. It's like the consistency of jelly and bright yellow. I'm not sure what I should do.. if I should watch it or take her in to the vet. I've called my vet already and am waiting for a call back, so I just figured I'd ask in here if anyone knows what this is or has dealt w/it before. Thanks so much.. I'm really worried. |

| It's one of those parasite things, coccidia or giardia, I always get them mixed up Anyway, meds will clear it up!

| Siu Pao had the same problem a few months ago. It turned out to be roundworms and tapeworms.

| Oh that's so odd! She just had roundworms and the vet gave her a pill for it maybe two weeks ago. And now she is just starting to get this, is there any way she could have gotten it again? |

| I would go ahead and take her to the vet for a fecal test to see what's going on. Better safe than sorry or to have icky poop! hehe

| I heard back and they said to watch it and if it doesn't seem to get better or change or if she seems to be in pain, then to bring her in tomorrow. i'm crossing my fingers! |

| just my 0.02 on this My puppy had the samething going, his pop came with yellowish mucus. Sometimes it could the start of diarrhea like marcerella02 stated. We went to the vet for his regular shots, he had pop test and everything was normal. This yellow mucus could be from eating something they are not supposed to, my pup picks up just about anything and will eat, so make sure you don't have anythin laying around that Lula will eat. I know it's hard to keep in eye on them but hopefully she will be OK. Another thing that could be, food. what kind of food are you feeding? After switching my to a different food and watching him like hawk, his pop now is hard solid. Let us know what happens. |
