| Bubba overdosed on my Librax For anyone out there who takes librax or the generic for it for IBS or any colon problems PLEASE be careful to keep this and alll medications out of reach of your furry pets! - Thursday night Bubba jumped up and got my Librax bottle from my bar I was going to take it after my shower - I have no Idea how he managed to get it down but he jumped and knocked it down - and not only did he chew off the label but he chewed the whole bottom of the bottle out - luckly I only had 2-3 capsules left - when I found him I saw one on the floor and grabbed it and him and started sweeping his mouth and then the floor and everywhere in hopes of finding the others - but I was not that lucky- I had to call poison control and find out what to do after about 30 minutes confusion I finally got a pharm. to tell me I needed to take him to the immergancy to have his stomache pumped and a treatment of charcole Iv done and blood work too- he said they would know what to do - the reason was that the librax contains a long word but it is a poison for animals and can damage the liver and kidneys also it will cause the heart rate to increase and cause heart failure and ceasures - scary so I had to drive 20 minutes with him to the nearest vet emerancy clinic but they took him and kept him over night pumped his stomach and did the iv of charcol solutution to flush the poison out of his kidney and liver and checked his heart rate throughout the night - when I picked him up today they said he was fine his mouth was totally black from the charcol and his front legs had been shaved for the Iv's and they said he had not slept all night - so we went home and both of us crashed . I have since learned from my vet. that if you need your dog to throw up - make sure he has eaten recently and give it 3 teaspoons of peroxcide the 3 teaspoons of water if it doesn't throw up with in ten minutes wait fifteen minutes and repeat but he said it usually will work the first time I did not know that =If I had I could have done that immediately and avoided alot of trama for Bubba and me and a $ 500.00 Bill too. Because those blasted capsules would have come hurling back out !!! Hope I don't need that imfo. again but I for one am glad I know it . bas1 and poor Bubba |

| My girlfriend's two dogs got into some rat poison and they had trouble finding a vet (everyone out with the flu). They told them the same thing, make them drink peroxide. They pumped their stomachs and put them on vitamin K for a month. What a scare! So glad your angel is okay. |
