| Ringworm???? i think layla has ringworm.. she has a patch of missing hair on her head and it is kinda scabbing... we are going to the vet at 5:30.. i'm so nervous.. i really hope it isn't... she has to be on meds.. and the shampooing (we are trying to not shampoo her to help with her VERY dry skin) and the cleaning of our house... it's just too much... although if it is.. it might explain the white patch around her nose... anways... PLEASE pray that it isn't ring worm! |

| Oh no I will pray that it is not ringworm. Humans can also get that from their dogs. I really hope its just dry skin. Keep us posted on what the vet says

| My kitten had ringworm. I treated it with Miconazole for a month and it cleared up, then it returned. As it turns out, the flare was not ringworm, but flea allergy dermatitis. It is very important to get a proper diagnosis!

| LillyBelle had ringworm when I bought her-I didnt know what it was-she was 5mos old. It took about 4-5 mos to clear it up- 2 soaks/wk, creams, finally started on some medication by mouth, along with the creme-that worked- was on the medication for a month. We were unable to get her spayed until the ringworm was clear-so she was a year old when she was spayed. She had a rather large spot about the size of a nickel on her shoulder. You can do a search here on YT, just put in ringworm and find lots of info. Good Luck! |

| ok.. so the vet says it is not ringworm because she doenst' have a red ring around the outside where it would be spreading... HOWEVER... i don't believe it was caused by my putting barrets in her hair... i feel that it is too perfectly round for that.. and even if i did pinch her with a barette.. i think it would have made a small scab.. and i can't figure out why all the hair is missing... here are some pictures... any thoughts PLEASE??? i am sick thinking about it... i know it isn't normal... he sent us home with some topical stuff to keep it clean and from getting infected.. he said to keep an eye on it... i agree that i dont' think it is ringrworm.. however i'm not sure what it is... if it doens't get better by monday.. i'll be back! i feel like i live there! |

| If you are talking about those two red marks-I really dont know. LillyBelle had an area about the size of a nickel-it definately did not have a red ring around it (like it looks on a human) it was a whitish color sort of raised. They did this scraping thing and put it under a blue light or something to make a diagnosis. I dont think they can make a definative diagnosis of ringworm by just looking at it. |

| Poor baby I hope that you and the vet can figure it out. Does it seem to bother her at all? Could she have run into something, it looks almost like she tangled with a rose bush?! Good luck!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Maya my pom has sores like that where the hair is missing and the vet treated her for bacterial infections with oral and topical antibiotics. Cali is being treated right now for a bacterial infection on her nose from scratching. Maya was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and that is one reason she was having skin issues. Did they do a skin scrape of the area? If not maybe you could ask for that if it doesn't clear up.
