Recent spay & urge to urinate?? Hi all, As you might know, Lucy got spayed on Tuesday. Today, Thursday, she has starting an odd trend of ringing the bells to go outside, squatting, and nothing comes out. She will squat 10 times, and maybe one time she accomplishes something. Later in the day, she is just frantically pacing the kitchen, and squatting, and trickling out a few drops here and there, in the house, which she never does. She is able to still pee a full puddle and poop, but in between, there are all these "dry squats" I called thevet, and they said as long as there was no blood in the urine (there isn't) it's nothing to be concerned over. The stitches may be irritating her bladder and giving her the false sensation of needing to urinate. This seems odd to me. Has anyone else faced this situation? Teresa

It's a urinary tract infection. My girl got that too after being spayed. Call the vet asap.

It's been several weeks, and she's gotten much better, but she still seems to have the urge to go outside more than she did before the spay. Most times, she pees, however little. There are still a few "dry squats." The vet said there was nothing to be worried about as long as there was no blood in the urine. But that was a week or so ago. I'm going to call the vet again. It just seems to be too often now, still. Teresa
