| Ick!!! What is this. Quick history. Quincy was found in the wood's in the middle of winter. He was in bad shape. Just ate up with flea's. Sore's all over him. Really near death. I've had him for 2 year's now and he is doing great. Over the summer I was out of town alot,( truck driver ) and he did not recieve proper flea treatment. He got chewed up again, and developed sore's from bitting himself. As soon as I got home and seen this it was off to the vet. Vet said infection from the flea bite's. Well he's just about healed up now, but still has a couple of small scab's. I have been bathing him with oatmeal shampoo, and now I'm trying something with vitamin A and E in it. Supposed to be for dry skin. Finally to the point. I allways rub his belly and back. I can still feel the scab's. Then today I found something unusual. It look's like a mole. Could it be cancerous? Should I rush him to the vet, or will it be ok until next visit. Thank's, Cal |

| Wow, I hope the little guy will be ok. You may have to put him in a boarding facility when you have to leave town. Fleas can be terrible.

| I share a house with my parent's. He's more or less my mom's dog. A boarding place will not be neccesary. I just need to make sure that I give him his flea treatment's when I'm in town. |

| I'm glad you still have him! I remember reading that he was really attached to your mom. You've saved his little life! Are you sure that's not a big fat TICK???!

| I really don't think it's a tick. It's too big, and the wrong shape. But I'll go look again right now. I just put Advantix on him a Friday. That would have to be one really big bad arse tick. Speaking of the shampooing. How often can I bath him as a treatment. I was using the oatmeal, now I'm trying some stuff with vitamin's A&E in it. Supposed to treat dry, flaky skin. Should I use anything else for the sore's. |

| It's definatly not a tick. It look's like a mole. It's the color of his skin. I just found another one real close to that one. It's only a fraction of the size though. |

| Cal, Breny just started another post about fleas, check in there periodically to see what advice you can get. We have to do whatever we can to make our little ones comfortable.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | It's quite possible that it's a small tumor. BEFORE YOU FREAK OUT - my Tucker had the same thing earlier this year. It was a very simple surgery to have it removed. and it's more than likely benign. (usually 9 our of every 10 are not cancerous). We thought it was a tick, but after we took him in the vet told us what it was and took it off. You should probably take him to the vet to get him checked out.

| My pitbull has two of these also and my olde English bull dogge has one under his arm. They were both checked by the vet and I was told they are just skin tags like what a human gets. Moles is what some people call them, but the vet told me moles are more brownish in color skin tags are usually skin colored or a little darker. Hope you find this is what this is. It looks exactly like what my two dogs have.

| It looks a lot like the things my beagle got as she aged. Do you have any idea how old the dog is? I would definitely have it checked by a vet. As for the skin, may I recommend two things: 1) Nutro dog food and 2) Lanatone supplement. I rescued a yorkie who had really bad skin from flea allergies and the Nutro food made a huge difference. If his skin is dry, the Lanatone really makes a difference as it's full of fatty acids. Keep us posted. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | My cocker Tessa has one of those under her eye - she's aging and it just came out last year - the vet said it's nothing to worry about - but if you feel concern - have your vet take a look at him..... and way to go saving that babies life....it sounds like you're doing the best you can and if you can get the fleas under control you'll really be doing well. We use Frontline and have only seen ONE flea - and I freaked when I saw it - then also - Heartguard too - ALWAYS - even in the winter here because of the mosquitos |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | from my tech experience i'm gonna say that is a simple mole, or skin tag that older pets get. its most likely nothing. you don't have to rush him to the vet, its not an emergency. Next time you go in just have him check it out. unless it gets bigger or changes in anyway, then take him in sooner
