Default I don't know what this is...help!!

Hey guys,
I tried to attach the picture, but I don't know how to resize it so I posted it on my photobucket: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...Picture001.jpg

I saw this on his foot last week however it was tiny and I didn't think anything of it...I just saw him chewing on his foot tonight and realized that it grew 5 times it's size. It looks so painful but I don't know what it is! It's higher than it looks in the picture. I tried cleaning it w/ a bit of hydrogen peroxide but it didn't do much he is still chewing on it. any ideas??? I definitely will take him to the vet tomorrow morning but just wnated to see if there are any ideas on what this might be.

I googled "red bump on dog's leg" and came up with a site that has a picture that looks just like yours. Then it goes on to describe a lot of possible causes. You might take a look at this site, but my guess is it's going to take a vet to diagnose. Good luck. Poor guy. It does look painful.

My first Yorkie, Karma would get those between his toes frequently but it was so long ago I can't remember what they were. Some type of cyst. They had to lance it or something like that. Then he would have to have a bandage on for awhile. I do know he got them seeral times. Good luck and let us know what the vet says/

Looks like the same thing that used to come up on our pit's feet and elbows. It was from food allergy. Of course, it took a trip to the vet for us to figure that out, but he was allergic to corn, rice & turkey. According to her, recurring skin irritations usually point toward an allergy.

Poor baby. It could be a myriad of things. You might want put gauze over it and then wrap it in some of that pet wrap...seen here: http://www.petcompany.co.uk/acatalog/petwrapbandage.JPG so your baby doesn't knaw at it. Then go to the vet to have him/her look at it. Hopefully it's nothing, but it might need to be removed, drained, or infected.

Good luck, and please let us know the outcome!

I just had Penny at the vet today for a similar red spot right next to her nose (I'll post on all that in a minute).

The vet is pretty sure it is a histiciocytoma, which is referenced in the link given above. http://www.peteducation.com/article....&articleid=445

I went to the vet today and he said it could possibly be a histiocytoma too. He said he wasn't positive so he took a cell sample and is going to send it out to test to see if it's benign or malignant. Hopefully it is nothing bad and I cross my fingers that I won't have to spend anymore money!

I pray that your results come back positive as well as ours! I can deal with a benign growth...

He said the same thing as our vet; only way to be certain is through a biopsy to see if it is benign or malignant.

Prayers for your baby!

My friend's doxie had that on her toe too, it was a benign growth. She had it removed.

Yes, I did. The vet said it was probably a histiocytoma which is like a small tumor I believe and took a cell sample to send to the labs to test if it is benign or malignant.
