Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would call the vet right away. I have heard that it is bad for them and can get tangled in their intestines but I don't know if that's true. I would definatley place a call and make sure. I hope your baby is fine.

| My sister-in-law had a cat that ate one and it hung out the cats "you know what" for 2 or 3 days until it finally came all the way out. Vet told them not to pull it out. Funniest thing I ever saw, but could have been a bad outcome.

| Tinsel is very dangerous like Patty mentioned. I would call the vet. Most likely he will tell you to be on diligent Poop Patrol to see if it comes out, but if not, it will have to be removed surgically. Like the other poster mentioned they can't digest it so it will come out whole and don't pull if you see it hanging out. An x-ray will show if it is in there. |

| Yes, please do. I am sure it is going to come up again this time of year. My tree and lights are up, but not decorated - I think I will skip the tinsel just to be on the safe side. |

| Well, have you "found" the tinsel yet? It might take several days. When my Great Dane swallowed by diamond ring, it took 5 days to get it back! |

| BrandonB ---- Did you say that you aren't really sure that she ate it -- but think so. Personally - I would just keep an eye on her. If she continues to eat, drink, and be playful and her usual self - I really wouldn't worry. If she starts having any problems - I would check with the vet. If you stop and think about it - there really isn't much the vet can do at this point anyway (you certainly wouldn't want stomach surgery or anything like that) -- And - I'll bet he'll tell you to keep an eye on her and get back with him if you suspect any problems...... I think even if she ate it - the odds really are that it won't cause a problem. **** I do think at this time that a good diet of high fiber foods and lots of fluids will keep everything moving through her very well. So - spoil her for a day or two and give her all her favorite foods..... keep that old intestinal tract moving along...... Carol Jean |
