| He ate a plastic ornament!!! I get home from work today and look at the christmas tree and there is a plastic ornament all over the floor torn to shreds. It was a snowflake with glitter on it. I thought it was my uncles dog that is staying with us but then looked in Benji's mouth and he has glitter all over his teeth. I am so freaking out now. Do you think he is going to be okay??? He is acting fine. I am going to worry about him all day at work tomorrow. We put all the ornaments up high but I guess we must have put one too low.

My furkids Donating Member | O my! the little stinker!! Did he eat alot!? I would keep an eye on him...I'm sure he will pass what he ate. Sadie is beyond the eating ornament age but Lillie is our new little one and she eats EVERYTHING!! I am constantly taking stuff out of her mouth...I am not putting ornaments on our tree this year because of her...I would make sure you put your ornaments up where he can't get them..I don't think it will make him sick but, you don't want him eating all your ornaments either

| I would call the vet just to be on the safe side. I hope he’s okay.

| It sounds like he just tore it apart, I know this is hard but check if there are pieces missing. I know of cases that the plastic sharp corners cut the inner lining of the stomach. Doubt that this is the case here but better safe than sorry! Hope Benji's ok. Lots of love from me and Zoe.

| Watch Benji very closely..... It wouldn't hurt to call the vet for their directions..... Almost certainly Benji will have "glitter poop" for a day or so |

| I watched Benji very carefully last night and he seemed totally fine. I brushed his teeth because he had glitter all over the place. We had the ornaments up really high, or so we thought, so he couldn't get at them but I guess we were wrong. Now we are keeping him in our bedroom when we are gone instead of the rest of the house. Thanks for everyones imput!

| Here's a link that mentions dogs eating plastic ornaments, tinsels and other holiday dangers and the signs to watch for. http://www.dog.com/vet/holidays/03.asp |
