| Smelly ears.. Bella has stinky ears!! There is no discharge or anything coming out of her ears...just the smell. She had a bath last night and i might have gotten some water in them. Before every bath I use Epi-Otic just to clean them. Any suggestions?? Poor stinky girl I don't pull the hair in her ears becuase I'm not sure how much and I tried one time and it hurt her. The next visit to the groomers and I will have her do it.

| She might have an infection brewing in there. Do you also clean her ears after her bath? Any water left in there can cause an infection

| Rebel had that problem and it was an infection. The vet gave me drops to put in both ears and it cleared up in a few days. It was kind of a sour smell.

| I think it probably is an ear infection like everyone else. |

| This is a little off subject (I'm sorry!), but how do you clean their ears? I'm a little afraid to poke anywhere in there because I'm afraid I'd hurt him. Also, he's everywhere after his bath, doing turns and rubbing on the carpet. So, it'd be even harder. |

| hi new member here.. My 5mo old baby Paddington has had the same problem for about a week or so now. I try really hard not to wet his ears when I bathe him but I guess I still got some in there. I have tried to clean his ears out too but he is REALLY bad about letting me do that. He nips me and the q-tip! From what I can tell there is no discharge coming out, he just scratches each ear for ~10 min upon waking up and then every once in awhile. He doesn't scratch all day or shake his head really but he did rub his right ear against a wall while we were walking yesterday and today. Otherwise he acts like a totally normal happy puppy. But from the looks of peoples comments here, funky smell is a pretty clear sign of infection so we're goin to the vet on Wed instead of to his first professional grooming. For future reference, is it ok to let groomers pluck ear hairs or does that lead to more infection? |
