| My puppy had his 2nd set of shots today and has thrown up 2 times Hi, My dog had his 2nd set of shots today...the DHCCP (or whatever the initials are)(2nd one) and the Lyme Disease Shot...he was also de-wormed. About 6 hours after all of this, he threw up his food...then about 20 minutes later, he threw up again. He's acting normally in every other way...wanted to run and play...is being a wiggle worm and won't settle down....he doesn't seem unusually hot or cold... but I know that puppies can have allergic reactions...I called my vet and was referred to a 24 hour er vet, that er said "bring them in....! absolutely....it's only $100 to see the dr." I don't want to jump the gun and run in to see the vet when it may be nothing more than the fact that he had all those shots done, then when I came home again, he ate fast, played hard and then got sick...but I don't want to not do anything if it might be serious. So I thought I'd post here and see what everyone thinks? Thanks!! |

| That's a lot of shots in one day for a little one He might just be having a hard time with that. I say feed him some plain boiled chicken and rice, or if someone can go to the store for you, some baby rice cereal, baby beef and a little half and half. If he keeps that down, he should be just fine. If he continues to vomit, give him a wee bit of Nutrical and make sure he's drinking water. As long as he's eating, drinking, and pee/pooping, he should be okay. If he becomes lethargic at all I'd take him to the er vet. What's $100 compared to losing him? So if you can get something into him and he keeps it down, that's good. Watch for any swelling of his face or head, that needs vet attention immediately! Prayers going out for you and your little one right now

| Vomiting is listed under severe reactions to vaccines - maybe you should take him in. I'm not sure what I would do, I think I would probably wait, but take him in if he vomits again or acts lethargic. Here's an article on vaccine reactions. In the future never give more than one vaccine at a time.. http://www.petplace.com/dogs/allergi...ogs/page1.aspx |

| I would say he is having a reaction to the shots and needs to see a vet

| Probably OK! I can understand your worry! I think it`s normal. Our vet said that our Chibi may get an upset stomach after his shots. I think you should worry if your little one isn`t active or has difficulty breathing. Also the vet said that our little boy may run a slight fever, his normal body temp is around 102F. Good luck! I hope he is eating well soon!

| RitaKay, I'd love to know how your little one is doing now! We seem to be having very similar problems. I'm sure how they will ultimately react is different Yorkie to Yorkie, but just hoping your pup is okay and if he's not, I know to take mine to the ER vet. now.
