Sorry to see this post this morning. Poor Eddie! Hope he is better today.
Hopefully is it just a sore muscle from jumping with the other pup or the way he came down on his little paw. Will watch for an update.
Be better today Eddie. Carol & Buddy

I'm so sorry. I just saw this post. I hope Mr. Eddie is doing better and it is just something that will go away in time. I've had stuff happen with my little Muffin similar to that and in time it did go away with lots of loving care.

Eddie in our thoughts/prayers today! Hopefully it is something that needs a few days rest!! (Our Sailor has had a couple of situations in which it took several days before she would begin to put pressure on her leg...but she struggles with LP problems and due to this has had a few stretched/pulled muscles that needed some meds and time to heal.)

Ah poor Eddie, I hope things are better today. I'm hoping he was just scared and it's a reflex thing.

Hugs and kisses to Eddie.

Default Just checking in...

I was hoping for news on Eddie. Anyone know how many hours difference between Alaska and the East coast? Just not sure what time it is there.

I hope Eddie's feeling better!

I was going to wait another hour until I have a more definitive word, but all your responses are so kind I want to keep you in the loop.

The vet was only able to give him a cursory exam because Eddie is a drop-in on a day when he has a full schedule, but the initial report is bad. He thinks it's his cranial cruciate ligament, the same problem Jack had.

My jaw dropped when he told me because there was no impact. At worst, he twisted it. But the vet said that can happen. It could have gradually weakened and then just popped when he twisted it.

I'm holding out a ray of hope because he's yet to do a more thorough exam with x-rays, but I'm bracing for the worst. He wants me to call back at 1:30, which is 45 minutes.

I'm trying not to let myself be too sad. Having been through this with Jack, I know the prospects for recovery and a good life are good. Thanks again for your concern. It really does help.

Just try to stay positive. I know how hard it is. Hopefully it won't be that, but looking on the brighter side, look how quickly Jack recovered? I know it cost a lot and you went through a lot but at least it's not life threatening. Sorry if I'm not helping, I just want you to see the silver lining INCASE it is what the vet says it is. But I will Pray it's not.

Oh, I have just seen this. I do hope Eddie is feeling better soon! I am not sure I know what cranial cruciate ligament is but I am waiting to hear later today what your vet said. Does it mean a surgery?

Again, I hope he's feeling better soon...give him a hug from me and Teddy!

Oops, sorry for not explaining, my head is still spinning. Yes, it's a fairly major surgery to repair the ligament around the knee. My 10-year-old had the surgery in January, and it changed his whole life around. He used to walk on 3 legs and now he sprints. It's normally not a problem you see in young, healthy small dogs. That's why I'm still holding out hope.
