Default My Yorkie pees 3-5x an hour

She is an 11 week old puppy. She eats and drinks regularly. She pees 3-5x per hour. Should I be worried? Do I need to have the vet look at it?

Don't worry, pups at this very young age pee ALL THE TIME! I remember mine peeing all the time at that age. They should start peeing less often as they age. Congratulations on your new addition, and WELCOME to YorkieTalk!

Yep, sounds perfectly normal, but it's a great pottying training aid because you can put them where you want them to potty and they do so really quickly and often so lots of opportunities for praise!

They have tiny little bladders and have trouble holding it in at that young age. Don't worry, as your baby gets older this will stop.

Glad tht you brought this up..............I am a human nurse and I was starting to get nervous like Ty was drinking to much so I was thinking he has diabietes, because I need to stop thinking everything is wrong with him and leave it to the vet........but as ong as you guys keep reminding me tht some of these things are normal for puppies I will get thru this stage............THANKS TO ALL.............Tyson drinks so much and when I told the vet on Friday she said tht was a good thing...........

When I got my puppy at 3 months old she peed every 7 minutes on average. I was shocked so I actually timed it!

She's now almost 5 months old and is doing A LITTLE better. She pees the most in the evenings and can usually go for about an hour without peeing. If she's hyper it's still 3 times an hour.

I hope everyone's right and she'll be able to hold it longer and longer! I can't wait!!
