| Gosh, I don't know. How long could it have been there? It looks red , but maybe that is because of Mommy checking it out . Maybe someone will be able to help you. Good luck! |

| Are you sure she's not pregnant? My first thought was a mammary tumor when you said it was hard (50% are benign and of the other 50% half of those have not spread and can be removed). After I saw your update of the milk, I'm thinking mastitis now. Mastitis can be treated with oral or injectable antibiotics if caught in time and is caused by bacteria entering the milk. Take her temperature, if she has a temp. then I would definitely suspect mastitis. |

| While you're waiting for your vet appointment, apply warm compresses to see if you can get it drained, but avoid letting the draining liquid come in contact with the duct openings of other teats. Consider the draining liquid to be filled with bacteria and change compresses and bedding frequently. |

| Morning Kathryn! I agree, take her to the vet - better to be safe than sorry. She could have a case of mastitis and needs to be on antibiotics to clear up the infection or it could be some type of bite. Either way, put your mind and ease and take her in Will be waiting for an update on what the vet says! Suzi
