| New vet We took Rocky to our new local vet yesterday for the burrs stuck on him. Some of them were actually stuck on his skin, not in his skin, but on. She got them all off, and now my poor baby has a bald spot behind his right ear and has some scabs :cry He cried so much when she got them off, I could only imagine how painfull that mustve been for him, but he's feeling better now! Another good thing is, when they neuter him at this vet it's going to cost me $200 less! And he won't have to stay over night! Hopefully everything will continue to go good with the new vet! One more thing..while we were there I saw a midget with a 142lb dog, I think New Finland or a Mountain Dog, but it was quite a site! The dog's back was above her waist!!!

| Poor Rocky! I'll bet he'll feel a lot better now. It's nice you found a new vet you like. That's always a plus. Thanks for the update.

| Glad you found a vet you like. P.S. In case you weren't aware, midget is usually viewed as a derogatory term, dwarf, little person, vertically challenged are better choices. |

| I didn't know midget was a deragotory term. To me that's one of those things that certain people are offended by, others arent...so I wasn't try to offend anyone. Bamafan121s, I thought it was a funny site, why not mention it???? No reason to be angry

| RaeRae, I wasn't personally offended - don't know anyone afflicted with the condition, just wanting to let you know in case you didn't. From the Little People of America Website. In some circles, a midget is the term used for a proportionate dwarf. However, the term has fallen into disfavor and is considered offensive by most people of short stature. The term dates back to 1865, the height of the "freak show" era, and was generally applied only to short-statured persons who were displayed for public amusement, which is why it is considered so unacceptable today. Such terms as dwarf, little person, LP, and person of short stature are all acceptable, but most people would rather be referred to by their name than by a label. |

| I wasn't offended by it...I am 5'4"...still short when you're married to someone 6'5". Just try subsituting what you said with a specific nationality or ethinc background and see if it still sounds harmless. Or better yet, what do you think this person's reaction would have been if you'd told them to their face what a funny site you thought it was? For all you know, there could be someone of the same physical stature here reading right now... |

Well I'm shorter than you, I'm not a midget or a dwarf, people call me a midget as a joke, I don't get offended, but that's me. Like I said, I didn't mean to offend anyone, and if I did, my apologies to them. As for it being a funny site, tell me this. If you saw a huge male body builder with a little chihuaha that had a pink dress on, would you think that would look funny? Some things look funny, that doesn't mean I think bad about it, lighten up, forreal.....

| I'm glad Rocky is feeling better. OUCH!! That must have hurt so much. Poor baby. That's a great savings on the neutering. Lucky you.

| I am glad that your baby got all of the burrs off it's body, sorry about the balll spot...Also happy you get a $200 discount on the neuter, Monte's will cost $168 total... However..... It's always Little People, never dwarf or midget. Just like it autistic, not retarded or Black or African American, not Colored or the "N" word, or Disabled, not Cripple. I don't understand why a little person would amuse a grown woman or any adult for that matter. That's why kids are so cruel because of the actions of adults in eyesight or earshot.

I'm not going to argue with you back and forth over it. I thought it was funny seeing a dog bigger than the owner, you wouldn't think it's funny...And I already commented on the word midget; so get over it. I told my coworkers and friends about it, and no one else was as upset as you are so I think it's just you whose not letting this go. So you can dwell on it, I'm not
