| Gucci Is Home Just want to let everyone know that Gucci came home today, yayyyyy she is doing good and I have to take her back in a week or two. The poor thing has this collar cuff on her to prevent her from licking her wound... It looks so complicated to put on and off. They want her to wear it to bed or if she is left home alone. I am afraid to take it off for fear she may not want to wear it. Has anyone had experience with the collar cuff? I appreciate any suggestions.. Thanks for all your prayers and continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers that her next visit she would not have acquired any more shunts... Gina |

| Elizabethan Collars Kia is also wearing a collar; I took it off last night to bathe and groom her, but put it back on immediately afterward. I cannot remember what Gucci was in hospital for, but if it was for spaying, you might want to try what I did for a cat. Kia did not require anything when spayed, as she had only one stitch, but the cat had a more extensive surgery. I ended up putting a sweater on her; she could move easily but could not lick or scratch the surgical site. After two days I took it off, as the site had healed enough for the cat to ignore it. Even a male belly band could work; a piece of gauze or Telfa pad on the site keeps material from rubbing it, and is more comfortable. |

poor baby how is Kia feeling? Gucci was in the hospital for liver shunt, she had the ameroid constrictor put in to close the shunt. I took the collar off earlier to try to make her eat, she did not fight me when I put it back on. | |

| I'm so glad to hear this happy news! Get well wishes to sweete little Gucci from Maddie and I! When Maddie was spayed, I also used a onesie on her rather than the collar. I just cut a hole for the tail. Poor little things look so uncomfortable in those collars. Breaks my heart.
