Default Lethargic Yorkie, Stumbling Can't Stand!!??

Good evening everyone and thank you for this Emergency Forum.

We have a 5-year-old Teacup, yesterday and early this morning he was fine and had no issues, later in the morning my wife noticed that he was limping and favoring one of his paws. He was very guarded when we attempted to check his foot, we in turn wrapped him in a towel to examine the leg and paw and found nothing to be abnormal.

Called the Vet, he said he would be ok and bring him in the morning.

During the day, he was walking, but favoring his paw but seemed to be ok, then about 8 hours later he was having a difficult time getting up on all fours. We mixed the Dextrose Mix for he went through Hypoglycemia when he was younger. (No change noted for Dextrose) He has now become VERY LETHARGIC and can hardly move.

We have called the Vet again, however he is a family may be at church or the lake so we are getting desperate and would like to see if we can get some suggestions or options.

Please, this is my Wife’s Life since our son has moved on after college.

Sincerely,
John & Lisa

awww so sorry to hear about your sweet samson! have you tried giving him some nutrical or even some kayro syrup, sounds like his sugar is low again! If he is not responding to you then I would rush him to the emergency vet asap!
Hope your lil one starts feeling better real soon!
and welcome to YT!

Welcome to YT!! I would take your little guy to an emergency vet as soon as possible. It sounds like this could be serious, particularly if you gave him dextrose and he is not responding.

I don't know what might be wrong with him - but please don't wait.

I am grasping at straws here.....did you have your little man outside, if so could he have gotten stung by a bee? sounds like him favoring his paw perhaps the stinger is still in there and as well may have had a bad reaction to the sting.

If he hasnt been outside could someone have stepped on him, is there a larger dog or a human kid in the house? could they have injured him without you knowing?

It doesnt sound like low blood sugar...I would take him in as soon as you can.

Default Options Tried Several Times - NO ER for 100 Miles if that!

We have tried the Nutri-Cal, then Honey, Kayro Syrup and still no results, we don't have any options within 100 miles or more for EMERGENCY Centers for Animals so we are desperate.

Thanks agian

Default Thinking

**Question** Is it possible to upload a Cell PHone Video for people to look at, with my heart, I can't drive that far.

Never thought about Sting, we have looked at the area and found nothing, but he was bitting and licking it we brought him inside.

No larger dogs on our place, he has a 7 acre yard to play in with no kids either, however lots of wildlife around.

Welcome to YT I hoep we hear more fromf you under better circumstances.

It sounds very serious to me. I'd take him somewhere. A two hour drive is better than waiting all night.

Please keep us informed .

it now sounds like a sting...you need to put some tooth paste or baking soda and water mixed like a paste on it to draw out the sting...then a cold pack (ice wrapped in a thin towel) on it...if you have Baby benadryl give him about 1/4 tsp....

If it were me, he would be in my lap on the way to the vet, no matter what!
