| Help, Maddie ate at least one grape I didnt know my hubby gave Lexi (my 2yr old) a cup of grapes. Well she layed the cup down and when I walked into the family room Maddie was chewing on something. She had a grape. I got the skin out of her mouth, but she had ate the rest. Not sure if that was the only one she ate. What do I do. How toxic are grapes????? |

| I believe they just give them diarrhea. Ollie ate one before and that is all that happened with her. If they eat a lot of them it can be severe. |

| I called the emergency on=call vet. They said one would be toxic cause she is so small and to give her 1 tsp of hyroden proxide to make her puke. It worked and she puked up alot of stuff. I hope she will be ok, they said as long as I could get her to puke she would be, but if I couldnt get her to puke to bring her in. I feel so bad, she puked and dry heaved. Poor baby. Hubby feels bad, but he had no clue grapes were toxic. Gotta go, she is puking again.. |

| Honestly, I really wonder if they are toxic at all.We use to have a Cocker Spaniel that loved them! I never knew they were said to be toxic. She use to eat them right off the vine. I am not talking one or two. She would eat at least 10 at a time! She never got diarrhea even once. I think she will be ok. Just keep an eye on her. Michelle |

That is good to know. I'm glad you got results. We had to do that once when we thought a yorkie ate one of my husbands heart pills. We later found the pill she hadn't eaten it. The poor thing, we made her puke for nothing. | |

| I hope she is okay. Give her lots of loving and watch her closely. It might be a good idea to give her a little Nutrical or Pedialyte after she finishes puking. Keep us posted.

| Well after puking about 7 times, she is fine. She laid around for about an hour on my lap, then she got re-entergized and is up running around and playing like normal. The vet did say that grapes wont effect alot of dogs but that yorkies are soo sentive and are so tiny that is can be toxic to their kidneys. Thanks for all your help and kind words. I gave her lots of kisses. Then when I let her outside I forgot about the puke and had to clean it up out of the grass (GROSS) cause you know how doggies are...I figured she would try to eat it. All if Fine and great now. I felt so bad, she was looking at me as if to say, why the HE.. did you give me that nasty stuff and make me puke. POOR BABY |
