| My Yorkie is Barfing! I fed my 15 wk old puppy just a small piece of a carrot bone, (looks like a cookie). Now she is throwing up non-stop! Every 3 minutes she is gagging up white mucus... 12 times in an hour! What should I do? Today was her first day home alone for a few hours, she had a lot of attention from my family a few hours ago, and her lunch was 2 hr off. Maybe this affected her? | Is it possible that she ate something unusual while she was home alone? Do you by chance have any mushrooms growing in your yard and she ate one of those (they can be deadly)? I would take her straight to the ER vet right away. She is really young to be non-stop vomiting. She should be seen now. If you have Nutrical, give her some right away also. Please, please take her in. I don't want to see another post losing a baby. It can happen very quickly.

| She ate a small piece of a carrot bone-- she never tried it before. Now she has stopped, and has gone to take a nap. I called the vet and they said to stop giving her water/food until tomorrow morning. But I wonder, maybe it wasn't the bone? (I only gave her a few crumbs so she shouldn't have vomitted so much.) Maybe she was really upset when she was alone? |

| She will get lethargic if she is dehydrated or possibly getting sicker. Give her Nutrical and if you don't have any use some karo syrup. Rub it on her gums. Keep an eye on her. I wouldn't withhold water since they can dehydrate quickly. Pedialyte is another great thing to use to make sure this doesn't happen. Still sounds to me like something other than the carrot bone, but what do I know. If you feel uneasy at all, please take her to the emergency vet. Trust your "mommy" instinct. I'll be sending you prayers.

| Don't know what a carrot bone is, but the white foam does indicate a stomach irritant. It takes surprisingly little with these Yorkies. I know one Cheese Nip and I cleaned up diarrhea for three days!!! A little concerned about withholding food and water (after vomiting) for one that young. If your vet is still open you may want to double check that - have his weight and age available. Also ask if Nutrical or Nutristat would be okay if you are going to do this. |

| Thank you, LuvMySissy. I agree with dehydration... I'll leave her waterbowl out now. But should I wake her up now to give her Nutrical or let her sleep? Wow, one little Cheese Nip is powerful! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would wake her up and give her Nutrical and some water. Trust me they can go down fast when they are so young and small. If she is no longer vomiting I would still check on her during the night and give her more Nutrical. As the others stated take her to the vet if she appears like she is still sick. Good luck and keep us posted.

| I bought some little cheese nips for Piper and gave her one. She got diarrhea also. I looked at the box for ingredients, it had onion flavoring in it. I was shocked! Now I read everything on ingredients before giving. |
