| My baby Precious is Ill, dry heaves, lethargic I am very worried, I have a 4yr old yorkie, Precious. She had Parvo as a young pup, and has been well, she is a rescue. She seems very lethargic, dry heaving, very labored breathing, seems like she's breathing fast, but it's short breaths. Not very affectionate, yesterday, she vomited a clear sudsy like substance, almost looked like mucous? I'm worried can anyone help?? Thanks! |

| Welcome to YT. How long has she been sick. I think you should call your vet if it's been more than a day. They can get dehydrated so quickly. And the the dehydration can cause them to vomit, thus making a vicious cycle. |

| Thanks, She's been okay for years! Then 2 days ago, a lethargic episode, dry heaves, then 1 mucousy vomit, hard stool, drinking normally, eating sporatically tho- I had to hand feed her tonite, and she only ate 2 chunks of food. I'm leary about the vet, because of the expense, and the last time I took her, they did so much unncessary work. The only thing that has changed in the past few days is we got a new pet duckling, and the problem seemded to start then. I have a maltese too, and he is okay..?? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry to hear about Precious. I think a vet visit is in order if nothing else just to check her vitals and see if she is dehydrated. Maybe you could explain you can't afford expensive not vital tests. Please keep us posted. I will keep her in my prayers.

| We are in air condition. About 75 degrees. Her nose feels warm. her belly feels a little hard. The dry heaves come every once in a while, she's been fine the last 1/2hour, but still lethargic and is now sleeping, breathing still seems labored, I mean her breaths are hard, but short. I was wondering if a dog can get a cold or flu? Or if she may be jealous of the duck? She goes in the bedroom when the duckling is out of its cage. The Maltese i have is * and he's not even phased by the duck. He is well tho- Anything I should I watch out for?? Thanks for your concern. |

| She does respond, she is just not fast to come to me, no excitement, very slow moving, usually when I mention "outside" she is jumping, barking and excited, now she could care less, she just lays there. Her eyes look okay, just look like there a little squinted, like when she blinks, it looks slow, like she may be in pain I'm not really sure. She only wimpered once or twice but not anything I thought to cause concern. |

I would also maybe scram her a egg and see if she will eat. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would be worried that she is exibiting signs of being in pain and get her to the vet. I hope she is doing better soon.

| I just took her out. She vomited the sudsy looking stuff, with the undigested dog food I gave her. She pooped, but it was very loose this time, and she's eating grass like mad. I brought her a pile of grass inside, and she's tearing that up too. The only other thing I did was feed her mighty dog dog food, I usually feed her Pedigree. Would this have anything to do with it?? |
