Rain Summer Warning-Sad Story-New Member

Hi All-My name is Carol-I am Gracies Mom who is 7 months old-she is our Princess-Yesterday my Sister In Law told us of a local yorkie who died from dehydration-seems her family was playing with it pretty hard and them let it outside-well we have had very unusually hot weather here in PA and when they checked on it - their baby was dead bleeding from mouth-Vet said it was severe dehydration-I have read of this here and other places and just wanted to spread the word-it is such a serious problem with these little guys-that I felt it needed repeated-What a sad thing to go thru for this family-My heart goes out to them-Carol

Default Welcome!

Welcome to Yorkie Talk. It is always a GOOD DAY when your first post is to welcome a new member!

Thank you so very much for the warning. With summer upon us, we can't be too cautious with your furkids.

Welcome! I never let my dogs out too long in the summer because I worry about that happening

How awful. I feel so sorry for them. I hope they are not being too hard on themselves.

Thanks for the warning. It has been extremely hot here in GA as well.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks so much for the warning. I keep one of those water dishes that keeps itself filled outside. Reuger is so short that I'm not sure that he can reach the water bowl that the big dogs use. And Welcome to Yorkie Talk. This is a very fun and informative place to be!!! (and we love to see pictures of your little one!!)

Hi Carol...Hi Gracie!!! Welcome to YT... I am a newbie too, just over a week or so now... Everyone has been SO great.. You will just LUV it!!! I know I have as I joined just prior to my Jazzy requiring surgery for LP in her back leg. I have really appreciated the advise and encouragement... I live in Florida and it gets really hot here too, so I always keep an eye on Jazz when she is out in the hot sun.... Thanks for the reminder, I am sorry for the loss that that family is going thru currently...

Have a great day!!
