| Anytime you are worried call your vet. You'll feel better. Talk to the vet over the phone and see what he will say. If he thinks he should be seen take him in. I know I call my vet all the time and he is really helpful over the phone. He has never asked me to come in if it didn't sound serious to him. Hope all is well. Sending good thoughts your way.

| Here's a link to possible causes of cough. www.canismajor.com/dog/cough.html You may also want to research collapsed trachea which is usually accompanied by a cough. www.glassyorkies.homestead.com Select hypoglycemia on left and then collapsed trachea. |

| My little guy has been coughing too. It started yesterday, every now and then he coughs like something is caught in his throat. Any ideas what this could be? He has an appt at the vet on Friday for his last series of puppy shots so I thought about waiting until then and giving it time to see how it goes. |

| OK, this is strange...Jolene started with a hacking cough last night...like something is caught in her throat as well. She, too, has coughed up bits of saliva. I called the vet and she suggested giving some Benadryl, 1 mg per pound, to Jolene and see how she does. I just dosed her up and we'll see. If she is not better in the morning I have to take her in and they said they may put her on antibiotics as a precautionary measure. Biskie so far is doing fine. Keep us posted everyone and we can compare notes.

| I spoke to my sister a couple hours ago and she said now he hasn't been coughing for a good 4-5 hours. He looks fine...eating, drinking water, playing with the maltese. So confused! |

| My yorkie is coughing Hi, I took my yorkie to the vet on Tuesday because he was hacking and choking, I was told by my vet that he has allergies and was giving antibiotic to take for 10days to take once a day and a antihistamine for three time a day. But everywhere I go on the internet it says that he should be better after taking meds for 24hrs. I need to contact my vet by friday if he does not get better. I am very concern because his breathing sound like he is stuff up with a lot of mucus. Have anyone experience this before? Did it go away? Please reply a/s/a/p Thank You |

| Our dog had the EXACT same symptoms she was just a bit younger, she still wanted to eat ALL the time, was playful and just normal we'd go to the vet but the doctor kept sending us home but then it got really bad, she sounded like her breathing was conjested so he gave her the nebulizer for a few days and it helped! the cough pill didn't help though so ask for the nebulizer! Tila has been cough free for so long now and she had the cough for a long time |
