| Fever, Soft Stool, and teething! Preston has a 102 fever, his stool is soft and he's teething. Yesterday we went to the vet because of the fever and soft stool... they gave him something to stop the diarreha and it's helping but they didn't "TEST" him for anything. Can teething cause a fever????

| Well it does in kids, even though most Drs will tell you that it doesn't, most mothers will tell you different. It will also cause diarrhea in kids. |

| A normal temperature for a dog is 101.5 degrees so at 102 it would only be slightly elevated and I would not give him anything. It would be like us running 99 degrees. Could have risen slightly just by being at the vet and the car ride over. Yes, teething can cause loose stools. |

| I agree with the temp range. But, if your baby continues to have diarrhea, take a stool spec to your vet for fecal exam. I do that but I have a regular vet who takes care of all of my critters. Coccidia is common, and can cause diarrhea. Albon is used to treat that. Metronidazole is used for other diarrheas as well as kaopectate or pepto. Just keep an eye on your baby and keep your vet in the loop... |

| Fever and lazy Hello all I came home today and my hubby tells me that Buzz has been laying around all day and picked at his food. Hes excitement of me entering the house was not the everyday Buzz I know. He has had fevers during theething but he is a year now I dont think that might be the issue here but Buzz has been lazy, stool is both hard and soft and has gone the two times as always he is also feeling warm. I hand feed him and he did two jump tricks for treats but then goes back to bed. Should I be worried?
