| Mister Sick!!! Mister was taken to the vet yesterday about 230 because I thought that he had gotten into some pottperri but i wasn't sure and he was vomiting. Granted the pottperri is very old, i still was worried. He was acting normal but still throwing up. The vet gave him 2 shots and told me to watch him and if he threw up anymore that i was to bring him in. I didn't even get home and he threw up again. They decided to keep him and they said not 20 minutes after i left he went down hill and started to get really lathargic. They did an Xray and couldn't find anything and they did blood work and it all came back okay, but he is still throwing up. They put him on Fluids last night and they have uped the fluids amount. He seems to get better and then he will throw up even more. I am so stressed cause the vet isn't sure and they talked about opening him up and seeing if anything is there but wouldn't the xray show something?!?! I am SSOOO scared and I don't know what is going on with my baby!!!

| Here's a link. It says to place a tube down the stomach and wash out the contents and also treat with activated charcoal. You may want to discuss this with your vet, before opening him up. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...cle/002716.htm |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would think an xray would give them a pretty good idea if something was in there. Cali started throwing up and diahrrea and they did an xray and said it looked like there could be a blockage. She needed to be spayed and a liver biopsy so they went ahead an opened her up. No blockage. I would ask a few more questions of the vet like what did the xrays show. Is it safe to just keep fluids in him for another day to see if he is improving? Good luck i hope he's better soon.

| I don't believe an x-ray would show a blockage unless the dog was given a dye and a special type of x-ray done. When a dog is pregnant, an x-ray only shows the bones not the puppy's whole body. |

| Mister update I went to see mister tonight at the vet. He looks a little better but he isn't my little baby yet. I did get to hold him and i got him to give me some kisses which really made me feel better. They gave him some more antibiotix and some medicine for nausia. He said that they were going to keep him again over night and hope that he improves in the morning. They said that if he hasn't improved enough then tomorrow they will decide what to do from there. The xray didn't show anything odd and he also said that he looked for gastric bubbles or patches that would show up around an object, But there was none. He said that if anything is blocked its probably in the intestines and a scope wouldn't do much good. Plus he is so small and they don't know if the scope will be small enough. I will keep you guys posted. I am going to go see him first thing in the morning. Keep Mister in your prayers! Thanks for all your support!!

| MIster Update Well I got to see Mister this morning and he is looking a little bit better than he did last night. When i was holding him he looked around a little and seemed to be curious as to what was going on around him. He gave me some more kisses and loved on me. I really miss him a bunch and its so hard to leave him. The Vet said that Mister did throw up some last night but its not a lot but that he hadn't thrown up this morning yet. They are hoping that by this afternoon he will start to show more of a recovery. ME TOO!!! If he does they will try to give him some dry food. He is still getting some anti-nausea medicine as well as something to help with any stomach acid. They still haven't ruled out doing surgery, but I really hope that they don't have too. Keep Mister in your prayers!!!

| My pup also got into some potpourri. It actually took me a couple of days to figure out what he was scattering all over the house -- finally I discovered a bowl of potpourri that he was having fun playing with. (It made his breath smell good.) And my potpourri was also very old...... He never got sick from it -- but in all honestly different potpourri has different things in it. Given that there are so many different things - he may have swallowed something that scratched his stomach or intestines...or just stayed in his stomach for a while. I'm glad he is in the hands of a vet - keep in touch and let us know how he continues to do. Carol Jean |

| Mister is HOME!! Mister is finally at home. I went and picked him up this morning. He is eating soft foods now and keeping them down. They did a Barium test yesterday and he kept the barium down. The test also went really well, it flowed through with no problem. The vet said that his liver was upset by the potpourri and thats what cause all of this. You can tell that he isn't fully recovered but at least he is eating well and trying to play some. I hope he returns to the same playful, crazy self soon. Thanks for all your help, prayers and concerns. Mister and I really appreciate it!!
