Wow, really? Baby had that collar on when I picked her up. And when the vet said 2 weeks, I almost freaked! You're right! All dogs will lick themselves. Hey, do me a favor...tell the vet that you talked to a lot of Yorkie lovers, and you want to know why you weren't given a collar. See what he says. Then let me know!

Ok, I will... I'm also gonna try and muster up and say.. Since this could've possibly been avoided with a collar how about not charging me a recheck on incision and only charging for an antibiotic... LOL think it'll work?? She told me that it'll cost me today 50-60 bucks... gimme a break!

You should ABSOLUTELY say that!!! It can't hurt. I do stuff like that all the time.

Or, maybe not take the full amount off...say, maybe a discount or something.

Say this: Since this possibly could have been avoided with a collar, is there something you can do for me regarding this visit? (and give her a little wink). LOLOL

If you're not comfortable with being "mean," try it in a joking manner. That works too. Good luck! I really want to know what happens. And remember, if it doesn't work, at least you tried. It's not like you're going to "get in trouble."

We used a onsie on Punkin and it worked great - until she pooped in it

Our vet didn't give us a coller either, didn't even mention it.

Hope your little is feeling better

Remmy just had surgery for bladder stones and no licking permitted. You have to make sure that you keep them away from the incisions until they are completely healed. Try a onsie on him if you don't have the collar.

That's what happened with Baby...TWICE! So what I did was leave the onsie unbuttoned and I cut a hole for her tail. It worked great. I wasn't sure how it would work for boys (keeping it open) since I'm not sure where the insision is on them.

I prefer the onsie with a whole cut out in the back as the cone really scares a lot of these little ones. I just made sure I took the boys out so they did not piddle in their pants

I have some of those um, um, thing boys can wear when you think they'll pee in the house thingyysss????? pee pad things.. but I'm scared it would rub on his incisions, and if he peed in it, it would get worse....
