| 3 Sick Yorkies I currently have 3 sick yorkies. One is a large Yorkie 4 years old the other 2 are 4 and 5.5 pounds 1.5 years old All three of them are currently sick. I bought a new bag of IAMS (they have been on IAMS for awhile) food last week. And i noticed the 5.5 pound yorkie began having diarrhea. Three days ago the larger Yorkie became sick same thing. This morning when i got up the smaller yorkie had the same symptoms. The larger yorkie had puppies about 7 weeks ago and they have been eating the same food as the adults but they are not sick. Does anyone have any suggestions. Could it be viral. i have had Yorkies for 17 years or so and never had them have a viral infection. The first yorkie that became sick wouldn't eat the IAMS food i had bought so , last night i bought Purnia ONE she is eating that. But i have read about the chicken and rice and will start all of them on that. Any thoughts out there? |

| You've really got a mystery on your hands - viral, bacterial, parasites, contaminated food would all seem to attack the weakest first and you say the puppies are just fine??? I would go ahead with the chicken and rice, but would take in a stool sample to a vet for analysis. my vet allows me to give immodium AD for diarrhea after a stool check is done. |

| Yes the puppies are fine. Stools are fine. very active. But it could be their immune system is a little stronger because of mothers milk? I will do a stool sample and take in. Thanks Judy |

| yes, I guess it could be that the puppy's immune systems are stronger, but they get their immunities from the mom and apparently she isn't immune. Let us know how the stool sample checks out. |

| My three little ones (Jasmine, Butch and Bitsy) all had the runs at the same time after I gave them Chicken Jerky. The vet gave me Albon and it cleared them all up. I would assume it was the food you gave your little ones. Hope your babies are feeling better.

| In September, Max and Abbie were both sick at the same time. They both had diarrhea for over a week. I don't know what the cause was and I can't remember what the vet said but I know that it wasn't anything serious. They didn't become dehydrated or lethargic. I had to feed them chicken and rice for about 2 weeks and the vet also gave them little pills to take once or twice a day.

| It may have been a bad batch of food. I hope they are feeling better soon!
