Default Somethings not Right With Minnie

Im getting so worried about Min ...Some things not right. shes been wanting on my lap and as soon as pick her up she wants down again. over and over . When I leave her down she walks circles, Like wall to wall along the whole room, over and over. I was out of nutri cal so I put Karo on her gums and am trying to get some pedylite down her. I feed her some cheese and she ate it, thats about all shes ate today. I know yesterday she was upset at her tummy cause of the bites of ham she ate . But then she started feeling better and now shes walking these circles. My daughters on her way over in case we have to run to the ER vet. Any one know what this is? If I say some ones here she alert and runs to the window barking, but then shes back to doing the circles again

I checked her ears and all looks good and clean. when My daughter came in she saw Minnie doing the circles. all along the out side walls. Then she got sick three times. Now shes acting fine, wanting to play , My daughter sit here with me awhile and then went home, she told me to call her if she starts acting funny again. I was looking over on the breeding section here on YT and theres a member here with her dog was doing the exact same thing.and she thought she was like 4 weeks preg. but said she was losing weight. Minnies hasent lost any weight that I know of. But this ladys dog was walking along the walls in big circles too. then she updated and said that her dog is now at hosp on iv and that its liver shunt.OMGosh I hope and pray that thats not whats wrong with My baby girl.I will keep an eye on her and if she starts acting different again or starts those circles Im going to take her right in. all the vet told me was if she keeps it in bring her in.
Im also saying a prayer for the other little Yorkie thats on iv's.

This is certainly nerve wracking, and I don't know what to tell you.

I am thinking of you, and hope you can get to the bottom of this.

Good luck.

I would def talk to the vet. That scares me because neurological conditions can cause the circle walking....I don't want to scare YOU but it's worth a call to the vet to see what could cause this...I hope she's going to be ok !!! It could be nothing also...Maybe someone will see this and have something more helpful for you....I hope it's nothing serious

Hi all Have not had much sleep. But Minnie seems to still be doing good. we slept on the couch last night and at 4:00 am she got up and ate her dry food. she took her nose and sorted all thru it only eating certin peaces. and then she came back to lay down and slept two hours about the same as I did. She was up greeting her daddy at the door this morning. She is looking and acting normal. But after such a scare last night , I told hubby I would still love to have her all checked out.

I have never seen any thing like a dog doing those circles. and that really scared me

The more I read this link the more freaked out I was.

http://www.jjspuppylove.com/webpages/LiverShunt.html

I kept thinking How dumb I was to feed them that ham and that must of brought it all on. because thats when she got sick and just seemed a little better then so sick again. I fixed her rice and tryed getting her to eat some thing last night and she would just turn her head. But then she would go drink more water and then when she started eating at 4:00 am and kept it down I felt so much better.

Thanks everyone for asking about my baby. If I get to take her in , I will let everyone know whats going on.

Default Hi

I wish you alll the best..I know it is very scary. When a Yorkie walks in cicles, hugs the walls...as a rule there is a problem in the brain or liver...best wishes

The only time I have seen this it was with a cat and she had neurological problems. It seems it would have shown up on her before now if that was the case. I would take her to the vet to be on the safe side.

Thumbs up Debbie, I want to thank you for posting this link.

Anyone who wants to know ALL the details on liver shunt detection, testing, and treatment should read this link.

Nice job, Debbie. I sure hope your baby was just having a ham reaction. Let us know how it goes.
