| He's just hypo No shunts, no coccidia.....just hypo. The bile acids test came back negative, which is a good thing. He is a REAL fighter...I still can't believe he's alive. Does anyone have any experience a hypoglycemic dog? Apparently that is the problem with Rip. The vet can find nothing else wrong. She told me to have some Karo handy at all times. Also, anybody have any experience with the automatic feeders? I need one that is programmable by the hour...I need to feed every 2 hours. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. We'll figure this thing out soon. |

| I am so glad to here that he is going to be ok! Just keep an eye on him and if I were you I would just leave food down for him at all times! Thats what I have always done for my girls and have never had a problem with hypoglycemia.

| Glad to hear the liver seems to be functioning normally. This is a great site for all kinds of information. Here is a link where they discuss hypoglycemia. http://www.elvisyorkshireterrier.com...04/page/717087 |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali has had about 5-6 episodes even as old as 7 months. She seems to have finally grown out of it. I had to fed her every 2-3 hours and give her nutrical. She does not eat hard food so luckily i do not work now so I was home and able to feed her as needed. I still feed her 3 times a day at 10 months. If she seems a little out of sorts or stressed I give her a little Nutrical. I'm glad every thibg else checked out and hopefully he out grows the hypo. I think that's a good idea to put syrup in the water, I would be afraid to leave wet food down for any length of time.

| Hopefully, your little one will eat dry. Wet foods should never be left out unrefrigerated for more than 20 minutes (actually they say 10 minutes). They become a breeding ground for bacteria. |

We don't have any problem with her eating now it was like forever trying to get her on a food that she was happy with. Is Gibber a good eater? He certainly is showing that he is a real trooper and is going to beat this hypo. Prayers for Gibber to just keep on progressing and hopefully for him to be such a good eater you will be thinking he is hiding some for later I worried so much about Baby Blessing when she was smaller but now she is telling us what she wants and when she wants it, now she is shaking her head no, no, no when I need to put her in the kennel, which really isn't very often. Your daughter is going to have so much fun with him as he grows and to train him to do all the fun things. Gibber you are one tough little guy and look forward to seeing your pictures in the gallery Patti and Jack ~~Baby Blessing~~ | |
