| Paddy has an infection... Paddy turned ill during the night last night, throwing up and whimpering. She was also having a yucky discharge the last couple of days which I felt was odd since she had a c-section and it has now been four weeks. I felt so bad for as she was in obvious discomfort. Not wanting to take any chances, especially with the puppies still nursing, I took her to the vet first thing this a.m. I feel better after they ran blood work and tested her milk. No bacteria in the milk so the puppies are ok to nurse they said, but Paddy has a vaginal infection. I'm a little surprised since she didn't whelp the pups. Are these common in mom yorkies? Let's hope the antibiotics work quickly! Keep good thoughts for us!

| I think it is common in any breed to get a vaginal infection even without birthing the pups. I had miniature schnauzers occasionally get them. It will be okay since she is on antibiotics. |

| I don't have any advise for you. But I just want you to know that we are thinking about her. And I hope that the antibiotics take care of it. Good luck! We will keep her and the pups in our prayers!
