| Parvo I had a 1 lb 8 week old yorkie that died from parvo. She was in the house for 6 days and did not start showing signs of parvo till the day I brought her to the vet. However Im sure she was infected from the time I brought her home. I am interested in buying a new yorkie pup but want to know how long before I can take it back into the hosue where the yorkie with parvo was in. (I live in ft lauderdale that's where the yorkie with parvo was) But I go to school in Tallahassee, the new pup would be coming to school with me and not back to Ft. Laud. But I want to know how long before I can take her/him home with me to fort lauderdale. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | That's awful ! I'm sorry for your loss.....I would def talk to your vet and take ALL precautions - parvo is nothing to fool with as you found out.... I feel so sad hearing about all the recent deaths and problems with Parvo - this should NOT be happening.... |

| kennel a breeder, pet shop, boarding kennel..any place where there are large numbers of dogs coming and going. This is no doubt why the person you bought your first puppy from can not get rid of parvo...they do not take a brake and stop bringing in more pups to keep the parvo going. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | and those evil people are just the ones who should be reported - they're no better than puppymillers....and how coldhearted to know parvo is present and keep breeding. It makes me sick to think about how many are really out there like that. |

| At the very least the puppy needs all the puppy shots, and i would do a good cleaning with clorox in the house, specially where the other puppy used to stay...and i would just change the plates and toys... I'm sorry for your loss

| I cloroxed and bleached everything in the house about 3 weeks ago the day the puppy was diagnosed and we threw all the old toys and plates away. Thanks for your help =) |
