| Enlarged heart and flluid in and around lungs? Has anyone had success in treating a yorkie with an enlarged heart? The pup is only 4 months old and has fluid around the lungs. Breathing is becoming labored. This baby weighs 3 pounds and we are seeing a specialist tomorrow. I hope I can afford to walk thru the door................ugh. If anyone else has delt with this can you please tell me what the doctors prescribed for your baby.? I have read about Lasix, and the Baytrill that the pup was on for the kennel cough did nothing, and I hear that is a potent antibiotic.......xrays show the little enlarged heart and edema. I am just scared to death and hope to hear a little good news from someone that has gone thru this and had a happy outcome..........? thanks |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My 2nd Yorkie had an enlarged heart but it wasn't diagnosed until he was almost 5 years old, but probably had it along time. He was on Lasix and lived to be almost 13, and that was back in the early 70's they have so much more that they acn do now medically. Good luck I will say a prayer that your baby can be treated successfully and inexpensively!

| My great dane was on lasix and although he did eventually pass, I think it made the remaining part of his life better. I know the lasix was very expensive (maybe because of his size) so we went to Juarez, Mexico and got the medicine for about a tenth of the cost. I know people who don't have insurance also do this for themselves. Good luck! |
