| UPDATE on chocolate eating yorkie! GOOD NEWS! I talked to the vet and he said to give him 1 teaspoonful of peroxide every 15 minutes until the dog vomits. It worked after 1 teaspoon. I'm sorry i didn't get to introduce myself in the beginning but here it goes. I am new to the Yorkie Forum and my name is Elizabeth. This is my first yorkie. I used to have Shelties and one Collie. His name is Moshi. He is 5lbs, 6 months old and was the runt of the litter. He is also a silver back. I am more of a big dog person, but due to apartment restrictions i had to get a small dog. That and my mom is not a dog person at all so i had to get a dog she actually liked in order for me to keep it at her place when i am home from school. Can't wait to get to know some of you guys and your dogs! |

| So Curious... Hey nice to meet you! Yeah he vomitted 3 times. Apparently he thought it was a good idea to vomit all over my pants the first time around. This isn't his first run in with chocolate though. He ate 1/4 of a chocolate turtle that my boyfriend bought one time that is was big as my hand. but we didn't have to use the peroxide. It's so funny how much personality these little guys have. I never thought i would be happy with a small dog, but i love how portable they are and that they don't leave huge messes when they have an accident and you don't have to buy so many bags of food at a time. He definately has an attitude though and is always testing me to see what i'll put up with. |

| I had no idea when I got my furkids how much like children they really were! We had to puppy proof everything! Literally get down on the floor and look at it from there level. Anything that is small and laying around on the floor they will try to eat. The sad thing is that there have been puppies get into womens purses and get into their birth control pills. Then they will bleed to death because they are so poisoness to dogs. It is so scary. You have been lucky so far that you were able to make him throw it up. Thank God huh! LOL I know that feeling. My baby ate a nipple off the top of a bottle when he was about 5 months old. I had no idea that he did it. He just chewed it in half, and swallowed the top! He just laid around all day and ate nothing. I was so worried about him! Then after staying up with him all night I took him to poo on the pee pad and he pooped out the nipple! Sorry to be so graphic! I was lucky that he was able to pass it. There are so many yorkies that have severe problems and even death from eating things they shouldn't. Just a helpful tip from one yorkie lover to another. It always helps to get down to there level and make sure that there is nothing they can eat off the floor. Or anywhere for that matter. And always make sure that pesticides and cleaners, and medications are completely out of their reach. Good luck! Sorry to be so bossy! I hope your little Moshi is feeling better after all that barfing! LOL

| Welcome to YT you will love it here. I was not a dog person either, and my daughter was the one who wanted a puppy for her birthday last year. Well, I think I'm crazier about Tucker than anyone else in the family. He is my last baby! They do get into things....Tucker is a billy goat with a cast iron stomach!

| Welcome to YT!! And welcome to little Moshi. I too have been an animal lover/owner my entire life, but found I didn't know squat until we got Toto! Our house is sooooo puppy proof and my once immaculate floors look like a two year old lives here! Wouldn't have it any other way .... she is our joy! I know you will love it here ... we have really great, knowledgeable people that are eager to help!

| Welcome! You definitely picked out the the right breed of dog if you are a big dog person, most yorkies have the big dog stuck in a little dogs body syndrome. Mine loves to do all the big dog things, roll in mud, and act tough
