| Sick possible preg Yorkie Hey guys. I am taking She-Ra to the vet this am. She hasn't been acting right the last few days. Since she came into heat, she has been losing weight, so badly I can feel her ribs and backbone. I have been feeding her small frequent meals throughout the day and watching her eat her wet food. I leave dry food down for them to free feed all the time. I don't know what else to do, she vomits on occasion. No diarrhea, no bloody stool, urinates ok. She just acts weak and tired, not to mention I am about to cry b/c of the way she looks. I feel like a bad mom. I have been trying to self care but it isn't working, now I am afraid b/c I don't know what is going on. Any ideas?? I thought maybe a tapeworm, but I haven't noticed any in her poo, or do they show b/f they are treated?? Somebody help me. I am so scared... if something were to happen to her, I would die.

| If she was not spayed after last heat cycle, she might have closed pyometria. That can, and has been, fatal so please take her to the vet ASAP. She still can be treated if you take her now.. She and you will be in my prayers.. |

| That is what I am afraid of, we were wanting puppies so bad, but I would rather have her around more. She was losing a little weight b/f her heat started, that was when I really started watching her eat, just to make sure Harley wasn't hogging. I am terrified. We go to the vet in 30 minutes.

| ok, he said she has a slight vaginal infection, doesn't think it is serious. He said her temp is only elevated 1 degree, so we caught it in time. I told him that they had mated, he said it may have took, but only time will tell. If so we will watch her more closely. Most likely the infection developed after they bred. He gave her an antibiotic shot and a 14 day round of Amoxil. She is sleeping right now. He said she should be doing better in a day or so. If she isn't better by Fri, call him. Appetite should increase pretty quick. I am going to get her some nutrical anyhow. He reccommended that we wait to see if she has pups, then probably need to spay her. He thinks that she will have more frequent infections if we don't. The good thing is that she is gonna be ok. Thanks for the help guys!!

| Yeah, my daughter had a cheeseburger from lunch and snuck her a bite, but oh well she ate it and really enjoyed it, just giving her small portions so she doesn't vomit.

| Guys, we took She-Ra to another vet late last night, she was unresponsive and near death. I immediatyly contacted hubby's aunt, she told me to come buy there and try to get her stable. We got her to respond to my voice, blink, and swallow a little sugar water. She called her vet in Malden, he told us to drive up asap! We got there around 10pm, he looked at her and asked what happened, he said that the vet I took her to totally misdiagnosed ger. She has hookworms, even though she was wormed recently, aparently they didn't give enough, I don't know. Now I am awaiting the call to tell me if she made it or not. I am hurting so bad right now, I shouldv'e paid closer attention, and used a better vet. I have been a bad mom, this shouldn't be happening to her, I am prepared for the worst. Please pray for me this am. I will keep you updated.
