| Throwing up...need advice When I got home from work and my daughter told me that Titan threw up 3 times. I've been home for over an hour and he seems fine and hasn't thrown up since I've been here. I just got him on Sunday. He had been eating Purina Puppy Chow and the previous owner gave me the bag. I gave it to him Sunday night. My other dogs eat Nutro Lamb and Rice. Last night (Monday) I decided I couldn't stand to give him the Purina Puppy Chow so I gave him the Nutro along with my other dogs. I know I shouldn't have switched him suddenly but I was having such a hard time keeping their food dishes separate and he really wanted Brandy's food so I just gave up and gave them the same thing. So I am thinking the vomiting is from the food change. Anyway, now I don't know what I should do at this point. Should I feed him the Purina again? Or should I just give him water tonight and hope his tummy settles? Should I give him a combination of the two? Should I give him boiled chicken and rice? I'm stumped. He is acting like he feels fine.

| If I were you, I would mix the Nutro in with the Purina, so his little system can get use to it. As the days progress, you can add more Nutro and less Purin until it's all Nutro. That way, his system has a chance to gradually get use to the new food. Is the Nutro puppy food?

| Aww Im sorry your puppy isnt feeling well. I know what you mean about it being hard to switch their food gradually....even if you do mix it they just pick out the one they like anyways. Last week Bella went through something similar....only it was coming out the other end .....I took her to the vet and he did say it was from change of food. He gave me some medicine to help her belly and I just continued to give her the new foods but went easy on treats and stuff. She seems fine now. Can you give her some nutrical, just because she threw up 3 times it may help her out a bit. Good Luck!

| I agree with everyone else... you cannot change food on a puppy like that... it must be gradual... Anything new you give them to eat could cause a reaction (vomiting or the other end). Giving him nutrical will supplement him in the meantime. I am sure he will be fine...
