I just wanted to let you know what is going on with Cricket. I took her in this morning for the acid bile test and picked her up from the vet at 4:00. He said that she sure acted weak today but the results would be back Fri. or Sat. and that he would call me but if I needed him to call before he called me back with the results. I took her home and let her outside to potty and she could barely walk. I gave her some nutrical and fed her and she ate but was acting really weak and I knew something was wrong. I called him back and he sent us to Lake Ray Hubbard Animal Hospital in Dallas. They were waiting for us when we got there and he had already faxed her medical records. They ran some more tests and everything they tested was normal. They are looking at possible liver shunt or a neurological problem in the brain. She is in ICU tonight and a specialist is seeing her in the morning and is to call me first thing to let me know what the tests that has been run and some other tests they are running tonight shows. If the problem is in the brain there is little hope for her. If the problem with the liver is outside the liver her chances are better than if it is on the inside. If on the inside of the liver she may only live 2 months to 2 years. I hope I am remembering enough for some of you with more experience than I have to understand what I am trying to explain. He talked in medical terms I didn't understand and told me so much I am confused. He was extremely nice and covered every detail, the treatment and what to expect with each possibility of what we were up against. I was so upset that I don't know what to think.
I am in this for the long haul and will do everything for her that I can. I want her to be happy, and healthy and I will do whatever I have to. At this point I'm not nearly as worried about the cost as I am for her. I'm not wealthy in the least but I will spend whatever it takes to give her what she needs. I just pray I can bring her home now. She is a sick little girl and my heart is breaking for her. My husband is wonderful. When I told him this could get pretty costly he said we would do whatever it took to make her better so at least I don't have to worry about that.

She is the love of my life and I am asking for some powerful prayers for her. The Dr. did tell me to call any time tonight to check on her so I feel really good that she is getting the best of care and is in very good hands.

Thanks again to each of you that responded to my post earlier this week. It meant alot to me to know you understand my concern and fears. I will keep in touch on what I find out tomorrow. This will be a sleepless night for me I'm sure.

I am so sorry that Cricket is so sick and I hope you find out the problem and she is treated and recovers quickly. I will be thinking positive thoughts.

Poor cricket! I sure hope she is doing a little better this morning. And I hope that she specialist is going to be able to help her. I have been saying prayers for her, and will continue to do so until she is happy and healthy again! God bless you and good luck!

I saw your post and wanted to say I use the vets at the Lake Ray Hubbard Vet Hospital, and they are very good. They will take great care of your baby.
