| gook in eye... hey guys, two questions 1) my little oliver has this little white gook in the middle of his eye, and i've been trying to wipe his eyes (close the lids etc) to move it, but its not working- any idea what this is? Should I be concerned? 2) also i think he was just humping my arm---he's only 4months old. What's going on with my dog? ha how old does he have to be to be neutered? thanks! |

| Has he been blinking? Usually I think it's just eye boogers that end up on their eyes sometime. Yes, they may hump at that age, it's just in their nature though some Yorkies do it for dominance reasons. Usually people wait until at least 6 to 8 months, but ask your vet when the best time is. Good luck! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hmmmmmm...I have a cocker that gets eye problems - I use a Sterile Saline Solution on them - IF that little spot isn't moving it could be something ON the eye - has your puppy been injured ? IF you don't see it change... I would call the vet and have them take a look at it - it could be an injury.... The color of the gooey stuff is usually light green and normally ....you can flush it out. Also -Natural Tears Eyedrops can be used on Dogs....at least that's what MY vet says - and there are also Doggie Eye drops your vet can presscribe. |

| Are you sure that the white goo in the eye isn't being mistaken for a stye or maybe a tear gland inflammation? I haven't heard of the tear gland thing being very common in Yorkies (and I think it would probably look a little pink) but you never know.
