| OMG they cut her ear!!! OK, today has been a terrible day. First, it was my sons 5th birthday party, out of town, where we used to live and all my family still lives. Thought it would be more convient. Woke up late. Had to get Jolene to the groomers, in my hometown, by 11:00. Got a frantic call on my cellphone about 11:45...we've cut Jolene's ear and it won't stop bleeding! I freaked out, flew across town to find my precious baby girl, standing on the table with her ear covered in blood. No, they did not "cut" it, they took a chunk out trying to trim them. I was horrified. We held pressure for a total of an hour and a half waiting for the emergency clinic to open, and finally got it to stop bleeding. I used everything nursing school had ever taught me to stop a bleeder, finally resorting to styptic gel and ice. What a mess!! She is now on antibiotic ointment to her ear. Do you think she needs an oral? The good thing is, the groomers obviously took care of the bills and really felt horrible. Probably wouldn't use them again if I didn't know it was an honest mistake. THe groomer was in tears as well as the entire shop!! Well, I finally made it to the party, 15 minutes late and covered in blood, but hey, I made it!! Jolene of course was the belle of the ball as she got extra TLC from everyone there. So much for taking some cute pics of her to download..... Jen and Jolene

| Oh Jen!!! That stinks so bad!!! Poor Jolene!!! I sure hope her little ear heals OK!! I don't know about the oral antibiotic, I would think topical would be fine, but just keep an eye on her temperature and her demeanor, and if you think there's a problem, get her to your vet right away. Poor little girl!! Give her gentle smooches from Wosie and I!

| OMG- I am so sorry this happened. YOur poor baby. I was taking my baby to the groomer on Wednesday- when I got there, they wanted me to sign two papers. I ask why and they say because she wiggles so much and I complain about them cutting her hair too short on top. Well come to find out, they cut her hair too short last time in particular because she jumped. Now they say they don't want to be responsible If they cut off her ear. Needless to say, I didn't leave her there to be groomed. |

| It was right for them to take care of the vet bill. But, it was an accident, and obviously they felt terrible about it. My dog (5 months) hasn't been to a groomer. I swear though - if and when he ever goes, he is such a wigglyworm that I don't know how they'll be able to do anything with him. So far I have groomed him myself, and he's looking good! With my other dogs, I have used groomers for years, and know them very well. I would never blame them for any accident that happened....such as the one you experienced. It really is too bad that it happened though. No fun! Carol Jean |

| I'd say that your baby would probably be safer in the hands of these groomers than most any other groomers out there. Wanna know why I think that? Because they've already hurt the poor little one once. Because they already know how the little one reacts. Because they already know how you react. Because there is already a report developed between the little one and the groomer despite the accident. I truely think your little one is in good hands if this is the only accident and complaint that you have had so far. If it isn't, then use it as the excuse to leave. The groomer and the staff there obviously care about your furball, or else they wouldn't have shown any emotion whatsoever and would have just left you to deal with the problem when it happened. I say, accidents happen. Once a little time has passed, and the little one is ready for another grooming, maybe you'll feel the same way.

| I really have no hard feeling against the groomers. Actually, I have known them for close to 6-7 years and have travelled the 1 1/2 hour drive many times in the past with a former furbaby. I don't know of anyone else that would take as good of care of Jolene as they would, despite the accident. I typically use the two owners ONLY, and yesterday an assistant was tipping her ears when the deed happened. I will certainly go back, as I don't know of anyone else I trust as much as I do them, even now. Jolene wsa totally OK with it, still giving kisses in true Yorkie style. She is completely acting herself today, up with the sun, running full blast playing in the house. Thanks so much to everyone for all the concern and well wishes for a speedy recovery. Jen and Jolene
