| Tinkerbell is at the vet... Too much going on here. I thought Tink had been poisoned... Two other dogs in the neighborhood have come down with mysterious illnesses within the last 3 weeks. She was fine yesterday morning, then around noon I gave her hw/flea stuff. By 3pm she was lethargic and not acting right. I checked her gums, they were white. Called DH and got her to the vet. Tinkerbell had trouble even walking and was going into shock... Very critical. Her tummy filled with fluid, vet did an X-ray and drew some fluid out of her abdomen, turned out not to be blood. Opted to do some in-house blood work... RBCs< Platelets< Hematocrit< All very low. Vet wanted to do a blood transfusion and keep her overnight, he already had her on IV fluids. We left her there not even sure she would make it through the night. The vet called first thing this morning... Tink is doing better. He thinks she has Evan's Syndrome. Basically an autoimmune disease that destroys red blood cells and causes anemia. She'll be there at least 2 days. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers....

| How scary. Glad she is doing better. Could it have been what you gave her for heartworms and fleas?

| Thanks for all your good wishes. She may need another transfusion today, but if all goes well, she may come home tomorrow night... Fingers and paws crossed. Hi Taylor".. No, I thought this too at first, but the vet said there is absolutely no way Revolution would cause this. One article I read said it can come on anywhere from 1-6 weeks after having a virus, or a tick bite can cause it. She hasn't been sick and I haven' t found any ticks on her, not saying one didn' t bite her and drop off. She spends the majority of her time indoors. She did have a lump removed about 2 months ago... IDK.

| How scary and awful, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine facing this while I know the loss of your sweet sapphire is still very fresh. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sweet baby right now.

| Tink is home! We got the call to pick her up last night... I had to stop at Walmart to grab some t shirts for her as they gave her a schnauzer cut. They didn't have any doggie clothes anywhere so I got her some onesies from the baby department. Just got back from our short walk. She's not 100%, but she's eating, drinking and eliminating well. She wanted to walk farther but we have to take it slow for a bit. Recheck blood work on Monday. My vet went on vacation, so when he returns I'll have a list of questions for him.
