| Yorkie seems off Hi, My yorkie is 3 years old. Last week she had an episode where she pooped blood and diaherra all over my kitchen and then was hiding in the corner. I took her to the vet later on in the day, and they said she was fine, ( she did start acting fine but just wasnt eating much). They said she may have ate something outside or that dropped on the floor, etc.. Gave me an antidiahrea med and anitbiotic and said to feed her chicken and rice, which i have been doing, She hasnt gone to the bathroom like that again but she is acting weird. She is hiding in the bathroom, sleeping in a basket, goes under a piece of furniture to sleep or corner, just not herself. She is sleeping fine with me at night, just wanted any opinions if anyone elses yorkie does this? |

| It bothers me that some vets just throw antibiotics at any issue especially if they don't know what it is. She wasn't fine if she had bloody diarrhea. Did they do any tests? Hiding generally means pain so she needs to either go back to the vet or get a second opinion from a different vet.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | She sounds like she's in some sort of pain if she's hiding like that. GI pain can be kinda miserable - is she eating? How is her poo consistency now...? If she is still not acting right within a few days, I'd have her evaluated more thoroughly. In the future, I wouldn't let anyone give your girl *any* antibiotics without knowing what "bug" you're trying to treat - that's a poor choice by your vet. There should always be a reason you give antibiotics.

I do think that this pup might need some blood work done since she seems to be having some discomfort....but my assumption is the vet did examine her and find her to be pain free. Hopefully.
