| Newborn Yorkie - 11 days alive without gaining weight - HELP! Hello, My yorkie had 2 puppies on april 12th, a male and a female. They were both going fine, but the female started growing a bit more then the male, on april 25th I got worried because she was with 356g and the male only 161g (I saw him feed this day). The vet said he prolly was just smaller then her. On april 27th I woke up and the mother had already rejected him (he was on cold floor far from the other puppy and weighting 144g). I failed to realize something was wrong earlier From this day forward he has been spending the day on the vet and the nights with me, we have tried lots of different approaches but as of today (may 08) he is alive but still weighting between 140 - 146g. I read a lot of stuff online (especially regarding the Fading Puppy Syndrome) and tried to feed him goat milk, drops of karo syrup, drops of beef liver water, also tried some homemade recipes (with goat milk, karo syrup, beef liver water all in the formula, also canola oil, yogurt and infant vitamins). I feed him on a syringe every 2 hours, about 3-4ml.. half of the times i have to force feed him, he doesn't want to feed, some other times he does.. He is peeing regularly, doesn't poop as the other female but he is doing it and it isn't diarrhea.. this sunday tho he did vomit 2 times. I don't know what else to do.. I'm grateful he is alive, but after this much time without gaining weight i'm beyond desperate.. Read about plasma transfusion but vet said he is too small for it.. (I'm not american, so sorry for my english). Please help me out! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh my gosh . How do you know it was a heart attack? What did the vet say during the time he was not eating?
