| Excessive drooling. Please help. My husband convinced me to go out to dinner. we got back and everything was fine. this morning, chewie has her tail curled under, her paw is drawn up to her chest off and on, and she's drooling... so much. Vent cant' see her until 2pm. Do I take her to another vet? I've had to calm down a lot to type this out and I hope I get answers. I can't help her, and I know she's showing bad signs. |

| I'm not sure I can give advice other than to say if you think she needs to be seen sooner, trust your instinct. When Sophie isn't feeling well (just had an episode last night that's lasted until this morning) I know how hard and panicked I get and how I do nothing but worry...so just letting you know that my husband and I are sending lots of well wishes and positive thoughts and I hope the vet appointment shows nothing serious. |

| I have only seen her do that once; and when we saw my daughter's backpack open and to the side, yeah, I wasn't convinced it wasn't something pretty bad. I took her to another location with the same company. Her blood work came back with no off numbers-save on that was 96 when low was 100, but they weren't worried. Pancreatitis was negative and that was what I was afraid of. She's perked up with her fluids and nausea med, but no throwing up or anything happened- just trembling and drooling. So, other than throw a shot in the dark, I can only be thankful the medications are working. Thank you. had I not been on my way already, I would have loved reading this. |

| I hope she is feeling better. I know we all suffer when we see our furbabies not feeling well.

| I'm glad her blood work showed nothing alarming. I hope she continues to feel better and get back to herself soon. Sophie was just shy of of refusing to eat for 24 hours. Her appetite is questionable on normal days so unless the situation feels different, our vet told us to give her 24 hours (as long as no vomiting or diarrhea). But every time it happens I panic and can't focus, I'm a mess! So when she finally ate today an hour before I would have had to take her in, I was so happy. These babies pull at every possible heart string they can! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | How is Chewie...? If something like this happens again, I honestly would *not* hesitate to give Benadryl asap. Here in AZ, we have scorpions, fire ants, spiders etc -- all of which can sting our kiddos. Benadryl is an extremely benign thing to give and yet, it can literally save a life when/if it comes to the histamine response that can happen w/ stings. I always keep BOTH the pill form of Benadryl and the liquid form (in case you have to force it!) on hand in my doggie ER kit. You give 1-2mg/pound. For stings, I absolutely give the 2mg/pound.

To everyone who responded: She's fine; she's back to playing. Hesitant to eat, but we of course fed her small amounts yesterday, and this is very normal. She IS eating, just not as much. This always happens, so by Monday I think things will be back on track. Last edited by JennaPenny; 04-22-2017 at 07:48 AM. Reason: posted too soon

They really will pull on heartstrings. The whole family went to the vet- including my teen. It's amazing and fantastic how they are adored by every one.
