| almost 2 years old and no testicles? I have been going through alot of moving the past year and havent had time to take my dog to the vet to get neutered during his early age. Last time I went to the vet was when he was having some diarrhea 3 months ago but it honesly slipped my mind to ask about that. The vet did a normal checkup aside checking for the diarrhea and he just told me that i needed to get two baby tooth pulled and Im making my appointment now to do that but I was going to ask him about his testicals tho I forgot. Max turns 2 yrs late january and I want to complete everything before i enroll him into the pet insurance i looked into. I do feel a very small ball in the area that only pops half unless u feel it you cant tell its there since he grows so much hair in the area. I am wondering if this is bad , I want to get him neutered before he hits 2 and im not sure i can. I remember having this question when he was 8 months and most people on the forum stated they usually drop after 6 months so I though nothin serious but with all the moving it slipped my mind. Anything I should know?

| Our Max is one hung low too. Only one testicle is out so next week he gets to be neutered then they said they open him up to find the other testicle. My vet said its bad to leave them in for various reasons but the main one is he might gets aggressive as he gets older. No plans on breeding so poor little guy will be a bit sore next week. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Sounds like he has one undescended testicle - so the surgery will be more like a spay than like a neuter. Since it's an abdominal surgery - make sure you go home w/ pain meds and a pain plan for when/if the meds aren't relieving the pain.

| Has anyone had to deal with this with any of their pups? Im the type of person that I do alot of research when either of my dog have anything. After going to my vet yesterday for a regular checkup I asked several questions in regards, but being that the main reason I was going was because my dog needed two baby teeth extracted as they had not fallen. Turns out he needed 3 not 2. Well he said my babmax heart rate was not normal as it was 102 and it has to be atleast 120. He hasa scheduled surgery for the teeth next tuesday the 22nd but also needs an EKG before just to make sure his heart is good for it. As far as the testicles he said only the right one was there , the left was not palpable. I was thinking of taking max to the aspca neutering service as its more affordable like I did with MIA but he says I can try but they might not do it. I tried to ask them about doing it there but he said we can speak about it after the teeth surgery. After that I started doing research and several sites said a surgery should be done as these dogs with a retained testicle are more prone to develop a testicle tumor in the retained testicle. Am I overreacting ?

| Have a question My male yorkie who I bought from a breeder hasnt descend his scrotum still and he's already 1yr and 6mos old now, my vet adviced me to get him neutered. Anyhow I called my breeder about it since I told her straight up when I bought him that I was planning to breed it with my female,. And asked her about her dogs health and so on, I trusted her since her dogs are also registered. But then now when I told her she told me that the only way she'll make contract with me for his another male dog for my female is if im going to get him fixed(the one I bought from her). Im really confused, cos she kept telling me that it never happened to her dogs and puppies that their scrotum never descend. Should I wait for kore konths? Also if ill get my dog fixed is her deal with me is fair enough? I never tried getting my dogs to be breed but I want my female to be atleast have puppies for once. Can u guys help me decide? |

What are kore Konths? But if I understand correctly your male does not have his testes decended yet, and yes he should be neutered for his overall health. You should never had bought a breeding male with undescended testes. I am not clear on the deal she offered you. Is it to keep the one you have and show her proof of neutering and then she offers you a replacement male?
