| Need help, please Hi guys. Could you guys help me out? Yesterday morning (Saturday, September 24th at around 6:30), Macy woke up needing to go potty. So I took her out and when we came back inside, she was all hyper and wanted to eat. I got her a plate of food and brought her back to my bed. She was perfectly fine. However, when I woke up around 9, I noticed she had threw up in 3 different spots on my bed, which I could tell it was from ham that she ate at 6:30. I think it didn't agree with her stomach. After that, Macy was not being herself at all. She threw up phlegm about 10 times after drinking water. She has a collapsed trachea and pulmonary hypertension, but she has been perfectly healthy since. After all the throwing up, she stopped throwing up and was able to drink water. All day yesterday while she was extremely quiet, she did not throw up again. She finally wanted to eat at night before bed, but she only had a few bites. She slept all night, but she woke up again around 7:30 not feeling well. I took her out and she went potty and drank water. She threw up phlegm once again, but only small this time. I gave her her medicines to try and help her feel better. It seemed to help as she went back to bed for other six hours. When she woke up, she seemed to be more alert, but still really quiet. She threw up phelgm one more time. She seems to be ok now and still not herself. She isn't panting or anything. Should I be concerned and take her to vet? What do you think? Could it be just an upset stomach? Thank you for all your help. <3

| Were there any changes in the food she ate? Anything she doesn't normally eat? If she still isn't herself in the morning, I would see the vet tomorrow. If she worsens tonight, then I would go to the ER. Dehydration is a big concern. Keep us posted.

| My opinion ham is not good for a dog it is salty and it will make your dog thirsty. Pork is very hard on their stomach. I never feed table scraps just vegetables for a treat and dogfood. I would watch her because she could get pancreatis so if you are not sure bring her in. Better to be safe than sorry. Susan |

| If you gave her ham & she's still sick, she needs to go to the vet ASAP. She most likely has Pancreatitis from the ham & this can not wait. And NO MORE ham. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Bc of the high fat content in ham, I'm very concerned about pancreatitis, which can be deadly. If she is not feeling better, you absolutely NEED to take her in and have them rule out pancreatitis.

| Thanks for all your help! My Macy is much, much better. I took her to emergency vet last Sunday night because she seemed to feel worse. She stayed overnight and was perfectly fine, but they said that according to the x-ray, it seemed as she had an enlarged heart. When we went to pick her up, she seemed so much better that I was surprised it was an enlarged heart. She had that issue before and it was nothing similar to this. The family vet said to take her to her cardiologist, which we did, and it ended up being pneumonia. She is so much better now. She is back to her old self! Thank you so much for your help. It was so greatly appreciated. I also hope that I am not being judged about giving her ham. The cardiologist said it had nothing to do with ham, which I am thankful for, but I will make sure not to give her any more. Macy Girl is my whole world and there is nothing I would do to make her sick. Thanks!

So many people are unaware of the seriousness of feeding diff human foods to our pups & we here at YT only try to educate people on all sorts of dangers to our babies. Consider it a lesson learned on the ham & thank goodness that you dodged a bullet & she did not end up with Pancreatitis as Pancreatitis can kill your dog. Again, happy she's better now. |

| Happy to see your little girl is better. Ham is a PORK product, so NO pork is to be given at all including bacon, there is much FAT in pork products which can cause pancreatis. What is ok for humans is not always good for our lil furbutts.
